Giggles erupted from the back of his throat all night long.
Jimin tried to contain them and himself, around Yoongi anyways. If it were Taehyung he'd be on the ground rolling instead of squirming in his seat uncomfortably attempting to hold himself back. He doesn't know why but his self conscious doesn't want be judged for laughing at dumb stuff. He probably looks like an idiot for laughing at every poorly sung lyric coming from his hyung.
But it was hard and eventually he gave in as a song he knew played on the radio too.
He could hear the lyrics perfectly, still being in Daegu with great reception unlike the tiny town he knows better than himself.
The two weren't going anywhere, just sitting in the complete darkness with the radio playing. It was refreshing to say the least, Jimin isn't used to this at all really. He was also surprised in the older for his taste in music, 80s music. It's something Jimin smiles at as he thinks about how well it suits the older.
He can't help but feel the tiniest bit bothered that he had no idea how passionate Yoongi is about music, but maybe that's his own fault. The older takes Music Theory with him he's such an idiot for assuming the older didn't have much of interest in music. Then again the possibility of him choosing the class because he had a random class period or just being placed in there is very high. It's not the truth though, Jimin at least knows that now.
Or hears it anyways.
"Flashback" Yoongi sings rather terribly, "warm nights, almost left behind-". Jimin burst into a fit of giggles at the lyrics from classic hit, "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. Now Jimin doesn't really know all the words be he indeed knows the chorus.
He waits for it and dwells on how he was really laughing right now, not the fake chuckles he pulls around Hoseok and Taehyung.
"If you're lost, you can look and you will find me. Time after Time. If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting. Time after time" the two sing to the rhythm in harmony. Not the prettiest harmony but harmony nonetheless.
But Yoongi struggles to continue as he glances at the younger still singing the chorus. His voice is prettier than Yoongi has expected. It's different from anything he's heard before, it's soft and somehow bittersweet. He craves the sound because of how sweet it is but the sensation of listening to it feels as if walking on broken glass. He chokes up at the self harmonizing Jimin manages and smiles large at the sound.
Jimin is unaware of the older gawking at him as he sways in the passenger seat with the lyrics flowing straight from his heart and his eyes fluttered shut.
Although he noticed the olders absence he peaks one eye open only to scream as he presses against the passenger door. Instantaneously Yoongi burst into laughter at the youngers reaction and leans over to turn the radio down.
"You have a pretty voice Jimin" the older speaks truthfully as his eyes soak up the moonlight. Jimin slowly begins to relax, he's been told his entire life that he's talented and has a good voice, but no one has ever referred to it as pretty. "I think I still have goosebumps" Yoongi mutters with a chuckle.
Jimin just blinks shocked that the older reacted the way he did. It almost makes his heart melt as he smiles and rolls his eyes.
"No need to praise me" he teases jokingly before leaning to turn the radio back up. He's sure that this night filled with music, Yoongis awful singing, and the stars will forever be one of his favorite memories.
***
Jimin hasn't seen much of Taehyung or Hoseok for a few days now.
Well that is until Taehyung sits his tray down across from the older. "Why are you so busy these days?" Taehyung asks curiously before taking a sip of his chocolate milk, "it's been almost a week now".
