"Happy birthday pretty boy!" Yoogni shouts as he enters Jimin's house with a cake in hand. Somehow Jimin blames himself for this mess of a boyfriend swinging his creaky front door open and closed constantly- he shouldn't have mentioned Grandma Park leaving for a few hours so that she could 'get some stuff from town'.
Jimin chuckles from his seat on the stairwell as Yoongi finally shuts the front door and approaches him, reaching the cake out so he can get a taste.
Jimin shamelessly drags a short finger across the yellow icing decorating the top of the cake with fancy lettering spelling out his name and pops it into his mouth. Personally seventeen doesn't feel all that different to Jimin.
"Ew what did you do that for" Yoongi scrunches up his nose with a large smile, "still rocking my sweater eh?"
It was true, Jimin proudly wears his boyfriends yellow over sized baggy sweater with pride. He's discovered how much he likes it, completely looking over the ill fitting it has on his scrawny body. He knows his favorite reason of wearing it, the scent of strawberry candy and cigarettes that linger in the knitted fabric.
"It'll suit my blonde hair more" Jimin raises from his seat on the stairs with a smirk.
"When are you bleaching it" Yoogni smiles as he follows the shorter into the kitchen.
"After I graduate" Jimin whines, "Christian schools are so unnecessarily strict".
Yoongi sits the cake down on the rockity kitchen table with an unreadable look, "they were strict about that back in Daegu too. One time I lost a bet and Joon dared me to dye my hair silver knowing well I'd get kicked out for it, cause you know my old school was tired of my shit I guess. It was a fun week though".
"So you liked it?" Jimin questions as he pulls open the dishwasher in search for silverware and two plates. He closes it shut with his foot before grabbing a rather large knife to which Yoongi cackles at.
"It looks like it weighs more than you" he shakes his head taking the knife from Jimin's fingertips and sliding it back into its place on the counter before gripping onto a more appropriate looking one. "And yeah it was nice, I'd do it again but maybe not silver- hm maybe mint or something".
Mint- huh well that took Jimin by surprise as he sat the small plates on the tabletop.
"You don't seem like the type to like bright colors- especially as your hair color hyung" he rolls his eyes with a laugh, "but okay- lets dye our hair together yeah? But wait for me- after my graduation".
Yoongi doesn't seem to know what Jimin just said but nods anyways as he cuts the cake into slices- sliding a rather large piece onto both plates. Jimin shrugs it off as he takes the plastic covering and snapping it back into place before sitting the cake into the fridge. He grabs a random plate and waves the older to follow after him but not before handing the older a fork.
Jimin takes a bite and hums in approval before leading the older towards the living room. The prehistoric tv lights up with life as Jimin presses the power button and rushes back to his seat next to Yoongi on the love seat.
"When's she coming home" Yoongi wonders aloud as the room fills with the last of today's natural lighting. Golden hour leaves strips of sunshine pouring onto the walls of the room throughout the old white blinds.
"Not sure, but-".
A familiar sound of the front gate unlocking causes Jimins eyes to grow. "Dammit you just got here" Jimin pouts.
"It's okay I'll give you your gift later" Yoongi shrugs as he follows a panicked Jimin to the kitchen, he smiles when Jimin yanks the plate from his fingertips and scrapes the remaining cake onto his own plate before shoving Yoongi's into the sink. "I locked your door back when I came in- it should buy us time".
Jimin shakes his head, his heart pounding out his ears as he grips Yoongi's wrist and pulls him to the bottom of the stairwell.
"Leave through my window" he speaks in heavy breaths even though the two hadn't really moved much. Yoongi nods instantly and leaned forward to kiss the younger on the forehead as the front door handle began to giggle along with the sound of keys.
"I'll be back later" Yoongi mutters in a low hushed tone, "for your gi-"
"Oh my gosh just go" Jimin whines softly with a smile as he pushes the older up the stairs and bolts for the love seat. Yoongi chuckles as the sound of the lock turning echos throughout the first floor of the house. He turns rather quickly and silently trots up the stairs and to the younger's bedroom.
He cringes as Jimin's bedroom door squeaks rather loudly as he closes it behind him. Chatter can be heard from down stairs and Yoongi bites his lip hard to hold back a rather loud chuckle as he hears Grandma Park question where the cake came from. He dashes to the window with no time to waste before ripping it open and glancing around for a way out, typically he swings from the sill but if he does that he knows they will see him through the kitchen window.
His eyes widen and he decides then what to do and turns and grabs the closest object for tip toeing back to the closed door and cringes harder this time as it squeaks loud and slowly. His eyes flicker from one end of the hallway to the other before sighing and chucking the bedside clock at closed door across the hall, what a fucking stupid idea, hell he should have stomped on the ground but 'noooo that was too lame'.
He chuckles at his stupid self contentious before sprinting to the window and chucking his own self out of it.

"You're an idiot" Jimin smiles large from his spot next to Yoongi on the rooftop of his home, sure enough Yoongi told the truth and returned yet again but this time with a small giftbag and a smirk on his lips translating to 'yikes sorry'.
Jimin glances over at the blue bag next to him and the crazy white tissue paper sticking out of it- a strange birthday indeed.
He opened it and Yoongi watched him with curious eyes.
Jimin couldn't contain the laughter that breaks from the back of his throat as he leans his head further into Yoongi's neck. He smiles down at the gift in Jimin's hands- a new bedside clock.
Jimin definitely won't forget this birthday, sure it wasn't one spent alongside his parents or his ex friends- but it's probably his favorite one yet. He was awoken to a facetime call from Jungkook that lasted hours and spent the middle of the day with his grandmother and lastly had a wild night thanks to his crazy delinquent boyfriend, Min Yoongi.

so to clarify my shitty writing (something you should never have to do because it should be obvious but i suck lmAO), yoongi threw jimin's alarm clock as a distraction to cause his grandma to be distracted and not notice him swinging from the windowsill before dropping to the ground :)
