At the end of the school day Yoongi basically had to untangle Park Jimin from his left arm. Jimin pouted about it but quickly got over it as he jumped into the passenger seat of the red camaro.
The two sat in their spot and watched as the other students left. It wasn't awkward, the entire time was filled with chuckles and giggles at each other's stories.
"Jin flipped it because of the stupid water sprinkler" Yoongi smiles, "Namjoon looked like he was going to shit himself".
Jimin giggles at the olders remark. "So did it survive the flip?"
"I told you we totaled it" Yoongi's gummy smile is quick to be out on display, "it flipped to the left and toppled down a hill side. I'm surprised Namjoon survived that".
"The reason you had Seokjin drive in the first place was because Namjoon already got a dent on it" Jimin shakes his head.
"Yeah and he also grabbed the wheel and that's why we toppled down the hillside so whatever" Yoongi shrugs, "needless to say don't steal your neighbors golf cart at 2 in the morning".
"Hm" Jimin hums, "I think I'll take that advice".
The two sit in the silence not really wishing to go home so early. See in the tiny town it's you got to work/ school and then come home. There's no stops at trampoline parks or going to watch a college football game. There's nothing more than the paved roads, lake, and restaurants scattered along the town. So why rush home to sit there and do nothing?
"My stories aren't as interesting as yours" Jimin voices as he picks at his nails (a bad habit). "Tiny towns result in stupid little stories you think are funny but I guess I haven't really seen all that I thought i had".
"Does this town bore you" Yoongi asks curiously.
"Only when I let it" Jimin shrugs as his eyes move over to Yoongi who starts his car only to turn on the radio.
"Then don't let it, the cities over rated" Yoongi smirks as he switches through channels most likely in search for the 80s station. "This place is cool, everyone here dresses like we're stuck in the 80s or 90s. Hell one of you friends has a mullet. Makes me think we're stuck in time how no ones owns a phone".
"Do they not dress like this in the city" Jimin eyebrows furrow as his mind travels to his closet. Is it really that interesting? Even Yoongi rocks his own version of their clothes. Typically dressed in black jeans, white t shirt, and a big red corduroy jacket that matches his car perfectly. Jimin found out rather quickly that the older doesn't like converse because they 'make his feet look big' and are 'uncomfortable'. So instead he usually wears a pair of all white Adidas.
Phones are also really uncommon in the tiny town, the only people who own them are the youth. Some homes don't even have landlines because they are so 'unnecessary' because if you really want to talk to Larry you can walk the mile and a half to his house. Jimin hated that growing up, having to walk the ways to all three of his friends houses in the heat and cold. He finally got a phone once he turned 15 and by that time Hoseok had his junior license.
"Not really no" Yoongi speaks honestly, "I like it. It's unique. It's as if this town hasn't changed in 30 years. It's really fascinating how most locals drive older cars and the building are older and worn yet well loved. This town feels warm in a way I suppose? The city is always cold".
"How's it cold" Jimin asks curiously as he sits up in his seat.
"They're rude people everywhere and you surrounded by construction work and buildings. Yards are uncommon unless you go on the outskirts of Daegu anyways. It's too crowded and there's always this pressure that if you leave your house you have to look a certain way. Everyone expect this this and this and if you can't manage it than you're just some failure".
"That's dumb" Jimin frowns at the last part.
"I know" Yoongi smirks, "it's overrated trust me". He leans over and turns the music up, it's not a song Jimin realizes but he figures Yoongi knows it by heart. He definitely does since he starts lip syncing the lyrics. Jimin laughs at the sight wishing he had his phone on him but it's currently in the trunk of the car.
Flashbacks of the night under the stars not very long ago play over and over in his head. He smiles wider at the memory of Yoongi approaching him after detention that day months ago. It was raining that day wasn't it? 'That kid definitely ate shit' plays over and over in his mind. He doesn't want times like these to end.
But nevertheless Yoongi pulls out of the parking lot anyways.
Jimin isn't sure what it is but he doesn't think he'll ever get used to how fast Yoongi drives. He loves the feeling of the wind on his face and his fingers outside the window being swayed in the breeze. The smell of cigarette smoke is faint due to the wind pouring in from the open windows. Strawberry wrappers liter the floor and dashboard but Jimin finds it a nice touch. The interior always smells like cigarette smoke and of strawberries.
The rock song is very staticky but Jimin can't tell if it's on purpose or not.
Yoongi pulls over into his usual spot across the road from the pale blue home. For the first time in awhile Grandma Park isn't sitting out watching the slow traffic and watering the ferns.
Jimin looks over at the older who leans forward onto the steering wheel, finger ready to pop the trunk for the younger.
"Thanks" Jimin smiles.
"For what?"
"For the rides home" Jimin nods, "and for the late nights getting home. Thanks for everything really-"
Jimin isn't sure what's happening as Yoongis finger find themselves among the younger's sharpe jawline. He tilts the youngers head before leaning in and connecting their lips. Jimins well aware what's happening now.
He kisses back with just as much force as his eyes flutter peacefully shut. He remembers how hungry he is for Yoongis kisses, even since the first time on the rooftop Jimins wondered when the next one would come. He eventually grew scared it never would and the whole scene in his bedroom was pointless.
They're lips break shortly and Jimin realizes even high on adrenaline that he has to go face his grandmother now. "Frick does it look like I just kissed someone" the younger flicks a hand up to cover his swollen lips and glances back at the pale blue house.
Yoongi laughs loudly at the younger's worry.
"If you have to tell her you found a pretty girl I won't care" Yoongi nods, "because I am a pretty girl".
"Whatever dickwad" Jimin rolls his eyes before punching the older on the arm, "pop the trunk in leaving. Good luck ever kissing me again". The younger playfully sticks his tongue out before opening the passenger door and climbing out. He walks around to the trunk which thankfully Yoongi popped open, he leans forward and grabs all his stuff and slams the thing shut.
"I will" Yoongi declares from the drivers window. He doesn't give the shorter time to cross the road before he pulls forward and speeds down the road. Jimins eyes follow the red camaro disappearing from where he stands at the edge of the road.
"Dickwad".
