"You can't ignore me forever" Yoongi frowns as he tugs on Jimin's wrist and pulls him back over to his seat against the empty classroom windowsill, "I'm sorry, when Namjoon said my dad was having trouble I didn't think he meant with his car".
"Yeah, but Yoongi what bothers me isn't that you stayed to help him or that you went at all," Jimin finally sighs giving in, finally speaking, "it's that you didn't tell me where you were again for days"
"That's my bad on my part Jimin, I'm sorry" the older pouts as he gazes into the younger's eyes, "please forgive me".
Jimin can't help the fear that strikes him as he looks back at the older, what will his life become if he doesn't? Will it just be over and then his love is just left hanging there like a shred of paper stuck on a tree branch? His love for the older scares him so deeply, and he wonders for a brief second if that's what all relationships feel like, walking on a tight rope. But he doesn't want to watch it snap, besides it'd tear him in two along with it. This is his fault right? It has to be, and he shouldn't be mad right now.
He isn't mad as he finally nods, signaling he forgives the older.
Quickly two hands reach out and wrap around his frail and small body, holding him up right and surrounding him in warmth, but he can't feel it well and he ponders if it's because his thick yellow sweater. But something finally shatters, and Jimin thinks it's the comforting sent of smoke and sugar, it fills his senses, powerfully saturating every thought going through his mind previously. Suddenly it's not his fault anymore, and Yoongi didn't leave him in the dark, his body burns, the love in his heart pulling his arms up and wrapping them around the older, his head resting on the padded red shoulder of his boyfriend.
He truly forgives him this time.
"It's okay Hyung" he mutters softly, "I understand that you were just helping your dad, I shouldn't have based anger on assumption".
Yoongi doesn't say anything, just stays quiet, but his grip tightens, and Jimin wonders if he's just as afraid as he was seconds ago, but he felt the comforting hug in his conscious too, suddenly steady on the rope, even if it was bending scarcely from the added weight, he felt safe.
"Here" Yoongi's soothing voice fills the room, calming the younger, who was truly on edge without the presence of the older, and he willingly allows himself to be dragged to sit down on the black piano bench. "You okay" he asks the younger, concern shining through his deep brown eyes.
Jimin nods before reaching a hand out and tugging for Yoongi to join him on the bench. As Yoongi sits his gaze shifts to the keys, he brushes them with his fingertips, they were dusty, how long had it been since someone played the piano in the music room? He tapped one gently, not flinching as the note rang off the empty walls. Although he jumps softly at the sound of another note echoing, and he glances over to a smirking Yoongi.
He started a melody he knew all too well.
The song they wrote together.
He smiles softly, it'd been a month since they last practiced it, stress and exams getting in the way, easily distracting him from the large talent show almost a month away now. He'd forgotten what it felt like to wonder how the show will go, or what he'll feel like sitting next to Yoongi, will he even be nervous?
The lyrics flood from his lips softly, almost as if they were unspoken, but Yoongi hears them all the same, a low hum buzzing from his lips the entirety of the song.
Jimin felt excited suddenly, he'd get a good grade and then they can both giggle and run the roads spring break, he'd get to watch Yoongi graduate only days before, and he lets out a chuckle just imagining the complaints from his boyfriend, 'why'd I have to come back to school for this bullshit? I'm already graduated'.
"What's so funny?" Yoongi smirks, his fingers still brushing keys softly, but now to a different tune Jimin didn't know too well.
"S' nothin" Jimin smiles as they meet eyes, Yoongi's smile never failing to leave prickles up his arms and down his spine.
"I love you Jimin" Yoongi whispers.
"I love you too".
He's never felt so comfortable.
