The full moon was hidden behind the clouds but it doesn't falter the brightness that typically reflects off the white surface. The clouds looked remarkable as they were lighten up by the blinding moon ; not a single star can be seen just the dusk blue color that you typically wouldn't spot at 1 am on a regular day. Somehow the seawater reflects the blue sky so well you wouldn't be able to tell where the ocean ends and begins if it weren't for the land not far out the splits at the horizon.

It was a sight Jimin missed truly as he swings his legs off the empty boardwalk which the bottom of his feet casually graze the surface of the restless ocean. He lets his eye flutter shut as the sounds of the tide fill the otherwise silence. Jimin didn't mind the cold water much- that is till a gust of winter wind blows harshly causing it to splash up and drench his bare feet.

Jimin yelps and quickly pulls his feet up to his chest and takes the oversized coat hanging off his shoulders to cover them as well. Laughter booms over the sea from his right and his eyes snap open as he looks over at the younger male seated next to him criss-cross style.

"Pussy" Jungkook chuckles as he joins the older in his stupid act of getting hypothermia.

Jimin can't bring himself to speak as he recalls today's events- he hadn't stayed at his cousin's house like expected but rather returned to the Jeon's residence as requested from no other than Jeon Jungkook who claimed they should hang out for the last few day's of Jimin's trip/break. When he woke up this morning on the carpeted floor of Jungkook's room he had woken at 4 am from a nightmare. He groggily pushed himself off the floor and slipped a jacket out of the younger's closet. Jimin had only slipped one arm into the large beige jacket once reaching the bedroom door. Not even a whole ass second after opening it a rather large book is tossed at it- slamming it back shut.

Jimin jumped back with his lips parted but refrained himself from yelping like a little kid as he turned to face the real little kid in the room, aka Jungkook- who was seated up on his mattress with a hand still on his bed side table where Jimin assumes the book came from.

"Was that necessary"he hisses at the younger, "you could of hit me".

"But I didn't" the younger gives him a disgusted look before slipping  on his glasses, "besides- I'm not that blind".

"You aren't even blind" Jimin retorts, "those glasses are faker than that orange you 'pranked' Taehyung with" (don't ask).

The younger snickers before muttering a 'where you going?' raising one eyebrow at the sight of the familiar jacket hanging loosely off Jimin's right arm.

"What's it to ya" Jimin spits but Jungkook narrows his eyes and parts his lips ready to lecture the older- and fuck Jimin really hates lecture, "Jesus, it was just a joke".

"Where are you going" Jungkook repeats but this time in more of a whine like how he used to when they would eat lunch and Jimin refused to give him the last bit of his fries.

"-mom and dad" that's all Jimin managed to speak before the white duvet is thrown in his direction. He fights the thing to finally see what in the hell Jeon Jungkook was doing- which he was met with the sight of Jungkook rummaging his beside table drawer and sighing as he pulled out a navy beanie and covered up his bedhead. He, like Jimin, didn't bother changing and remained in his grey sweat pants and loose white t-shirt.

Jimin waits by the bedroom door in shock- duvet still in hand.

Why the heck am I still holding this thing?

His nose crinkles as he throws the white covers back onto the younger's bed, but doesn't have the opportunity to fix them before a hand is gripping at his un-clothed arm and pulling him out of the room.  He shoot the younger a confused look as the crazy day begins, before he knows it he's being pulled down the stairwell and Jungkook is shoving his boots onto his feet. Jimin finally snaps out of his state of reverie and waves the younger off before lacing  the rest of his boots.

Jimin wasn't even sure who's keys the younger took as they shuffle out the front door in not the quietest manner. He's beginning to question what happened to his 'innocent' childhood friend (but then again he's changed too) as he unlocks an unfamiliar red truck parked in the rather large driveway.

"Wait- Jeon Jungook, how you have your license-"

"I don't" Jungkook cuts him off with a shrug and Jimin's eyes grow as he begins to fiddle with the door handle with  wanting nothing more than to escape this death trap.

"Jeon" Jimin whines as the engine roars to life and the two begin moving, now he always believed Yoongi's driving was crazy- but holy crap remind him to never ride with Jungkook ever again. Unlike with Yoongi- he couldn't enjoy each twist and turn in the back roads on the way to the graveyard, but maybe that's because they reminded him of the older's face.

The two had spent almost the entire day at the graveyard by Jimin's parents tombstones, which thankfully they could read since the bitter snow finally melted, and only left when their stomachs growled after being ignored for so long. They hopped back into Jeon's (yeah Jimin isn't sure who's vehicle this is either) truck and the 80's music mumbling from the radio tears at Jimin's heart and he's grateful for his already tear stained cheeks. At least now Jungkook wont question him.

The rest of the day felt like a blur after they stopped at a diner Jimin's only ever ate at once when he was young. He only remembers the vague conversation the two had just about life and how stupid everything felt after Jungkook had to leave, and when they blew their straw wrappers at each other. Really he isn't sure how they ended up here at an abandoned boardwalk Jungkook claimed to discover once while angry at something his step-'father' said.

As Jimin promised, sunsets we're very pretty as the colors reflect off the water and the sight filled Jungkook with a feeling of nostalgia as it reminded him of the lake and their lookout back at home.

He scoffs at Jungkook's remark, wasn't this kid muttering comforting  and understanding words two hours ago?

"You're a weirdo" a smile falters at his lips as today replays in his brain.

"Says the one dating a delinquent" Jungkook smirks and Jimin parts his lips ready to lash out for the younger's words that is- until they dawn on him. His eyebrows furrow as he clinches his eyes and tries to recall telling the younger anything about Yoongi, but he made sure not to- "Hobi told me".

"Backstabber" a gasp escapes Jimin's lips, "I thought I still had him lef-"

A giggle erupts from the younger next to him causing his words to travel off at the end. "I'm happy for you" the younger finally smiles softly, "but he's the real reason you're here right?"

Jimin crinkles his nose, and in his own way- confirms Jungkook's statement. "I'm here for myself thank you"Jimin huffs.

"What happened" the younger finally questions, "what really pushed you to come?"

why even hold back anymore

"I was foolish" Jimin admits in a whisper, "thought I should stay home- that he'd stay too; that we could hang out like always. But- he left town and didn't return my calls".

"Maybe he went somewhere without service".

Jimin shakes his head, "I think he went to Daegu-"

"Well you don't know for sure idiot" Jungkooks rolls his eyes as he leans back on his elbows, "stop assuming that he's ignoring you- you do know the main reason couples break up is because of miscommunication right? So don't get angry if you don't know the full story- besides, he might be in town and confused about your whereabouts too. Basically, don't dig your grave by overthinking"

And no matter how much truth Jungkook's words were saturated in- Jimin couldn't help but overthink since Yoongi had said he'd be home for all break too.
