As Jimin thought, Grandma Park of course scolded him for walking in the rain.

"You should have rode with Hoseok!"

And

"What about the red camaro boy?"

Jimin wasn't sure if he could handle her mention of Yoongi. He shook his head not even bothering to excuse why he didn't ride with older, he knew he still could have. He knows Yoongi saw him in the lot as he searched for Hoseok who left him behind knowing no better assuming Jimin would have a ride. Well he could have technically, but he can't even stand talking about the older let alone sitting next to him in his vehicle. So he instead just mutter how they weren't on the best of terms before handing his phone over as she had asked. He scurried to his room not long after, preparing himself to sit out on the veranda and work on the lyrics.

He slipped on an oversized hoodie and sweatpants that once belonged to Jungkook before gripping his notebook and pen before shuffling outside. Well almost anyways-

He made it to the doorway before grandma park shouted for him from the kitchen. "Jimin!"

He turned quickly before running through the house and into the kitchen. "What?! What is it?!" He entered but looked around confused to just see her sitting at the tiny dining table.

"Your- your phone" she held out his phone to him causing his eyebrows to furrow in confusion. He could hear it humming against her palm as she held it out to him, "it's Jungkook".

He swiped it from her hand before mouthing a thank you and answering quickly, maybe too quickly.

"Jungkook?!"

"Jiminie" he hears a tired voice come from the other end. Jimin excused himself and finally walked out to the veranda, shutting the front door closed behind him. He sat in a seat and hugged a cushion.

"What's wrong" Jimin mutters quietly but Jungkook still picked up the words on the other end.

"I found out why"

"Why what?"

"Why they split up".

Jimins eyes grow large as he quickly sits up ready for Jungkook to spill all the tea. "What happened?"

"I have a brother"

"H u h?!"

He could hear a tired and hoarse laugh escape from Jungkooks throat, who has clearly been crying for who knows how many hours now.

"I have a-an older brother" Jungkook shakes his head on the other line, "his names Junghyun- and I guess mom cheated on dad andhadhimwaybeforeshehad-"

"Jungkook slow down" Jimin whispers into the phone, "okay his names Junghyun and he's older than you and what?"

"Mom cheated on dad" he whispers- voice growing more broken as if he's about to burst into tears again, "she had him years before me and just- abandoned him? But why?"

"Kook" Jimin whines into the phone before rubbing his temples, "why the heck did the judge give her custody if they knew she had a past of abandoning her first child?!"

"They didn't know that's the problem" he listens as Jungkook sips a drink, most likely banana milk, on the other end of the call, "it's not filed and Junghyun's father didn't even bother to report it! Also you know all those times she disappeared as kids?"

Of course he does- Jungkook would cry about missing his mother late into the night as children because she'd constantly leave for large chunks of time without telling anyone where she was going. "She always said it was just business meetings, they weren't were they" Jimin cringes as he opens his notebook.

"They weren't,  she was here visiting him and cheating on my father and Jimin" his voice cracks, "I wanna go home- I miss you guys so much".

"I know Kook I miss you too" Jimin frowns, his mind slips back to the cafeteria and how the boys were joking and asking the last time he was late. How painful it was to remember back over a month ago when the boys figured out Jungkook was leaving. How sad he's felt all day from it and how over the edge he was as he yelled at Yoongi in the hallway. Jungkooks absence raising feelings he didn't even know he had until now.

"Jimin why am I here?" Jungkook cries into the phone.

Jimins heart burns as the words slip from the youngers lips. "I miss you guys, I miss that shitty town. Hell I can't-" his voice cracks.

"Can't what?"

"Can't get fucking Taehyung out of my brain!" the younger finally shouts.

Jimin sits in shock- isn't Jungkook religious as hell as straighter than a ruler? His eyebrows furrow as he continues his chat with the younger- "why's he in your head?"

"He said something"

"Yeah?"

"Said that he loved me".

And Jimin's heart burns as a tear slides down his cheek. He hadn't even realized he was crying until he tasted the salty tears on his lips.

Jungkooks voice cracks again, "a-and"

"and?"

After a crack of thunder the rain starts pouring harder than it had been all day. Jimin would typically laugh at how cliche it was but instead he didn't, whatever Jungkook has to say has to be important.

"H-he read something".

"Read what Kook?"

"My diary remember" the younger whispers and Jimin closes his eyes as he struggles. But it comes back to him- they memory of Jungkook giggling with tears flowing down his face at the drawing he made and how angry he got as he noticed the older boy flipping through his locked box.

"You're paranoid that he read your diary?"

"I know that he read it" Jungkook groans, "I know that he saw it I could see the look on his face- fuck I could see the pain in his eyes, ugh I didn't know he felt that way".

"What did he read?" Jimins eyes flick open as he hears the sound of thunder- except it didn't match up with lightening brightening up the sky seconds ago. He spots a figure in the road holding something and the connection with Jungkook begins to crackle and die as he raises to his feet and steps out to the edge of the veranda for a better look.

Out in the foggy mist he spots the familiar red car and he cringes at the sound of his phone clanking against the ground. Was he really so shocked his phone slipped from his fingertips?

"What the hell are you doing?!" Jimin yells as he steps out into the rain and pulls the dark haired boy onto his porch. "Yoongi-" his eyes trail down to the take out box, "what is that?"

"You know".

And Jimin takes a deep breath as he recalls the text still in his phone, "I know".
