3rd person's pov - (f/n) eyes sparkled from the lights reflecting off the towns colorful lights "its so beautiful" she said smiling dietfried looked at her oddly "its just Christmas lights nothing special" he said. "you may think that but for someone like me this is a different story" she said "what do you mean?" "to my father its nothing special he doesn't have the time to get things set up and holidays aren't the same when a family isn't whole." she said dietfried stared at her he understood those words very much. even though his father is dead now his mother isn't the same and his family isn't either they lie with smiles just like she is now. "your lying" he said "what do you mean?" she asked "nothing" he said as he kept walking "well since this is othing special why don't I show you a brand new holiday" she said. "I doubt you can impress me remember I have had extraordinary Christmases." "oh right I forgot money makes holidays better" she said jokingly. she pulled her hoodie off smiling at him "even with that make up you look like a dyke" he said rudely "well its not like I can grow it out I mean then I would look like a girl with luscious hair. I mean I don't know how you haven't been banged yet all they would have to do is turn you over and pull your hair." she said back "I regret bringing you" she chuckled. "come on" she said taking him by the hand "lets go eat something" "I have reservation already" "dude come on haven't you ever had someone that's you know not expensively made from some top chief." "the food from the base" "yes but even that's below poor people food come on there has to be a diner somewhere." she said they had walked for over half a hour freezing cold her hands started to turn red even with them in her pockets. dietfried stood at the corner of the street annoyed of her talking to strangers but even so. he couldn't help but to watch her cheery attitude and warm heart bring in people.

as he stood there his eyes wandered off to the many couples who were celebrating what did they have so much to be happy for he wondered it was just like any other day just cold that's all. "Dietfried!" (f/n) shouted grabbing his attention quickly (f/n) blew warm air into her hands "i found a place" she said "finally" he said he noticed her red hands "idiot" he said as he pulled his gloves off "don't you have anything" he said "for the past year you've been paying for a lot of my stuff what do you think." she said dietfried paused how did he just realize that he did buy her lots of stuff. "you owe me" "don't worry it will be repayed when I save your ass" she said as she walked off dietfried sighed following her. one glance at the Diner and he was ready to leave "no way" he said "oh come on dietfried don't knock it until you try it" she said with the usual annoyed look he followed her in the diner.a young waitress greated them "hello I am Tessa I will be your waitress" she said bringing them to the table. "we'll start with your drinks what would you like?" "two hot chocolates whole nine yards please" the woman smiled "coming right up" she said as she set the menu's down and walked off. "why did you do that I wanted coffee" he said. "first experience of the great holdiday drink hot chocolate" she said. "hot chocolate its probably made a packet of powder chocolate and sink water." he said "actually when I said the whole nine yards it means make it like a grandmother would." dietfried sighed as he looked over the menu "I guess the only thing worth trying is the burger" he grumbled. (f/n) looked at the menu "I think I'll have the same but for reasons other than yours" she said. Tessa walked back with a trey holding two large mugs setting them down (f/n) smiled we'll take two burgers, fries, and one birthday special for my friend here." "oh birthday boy alright" she said as she wrote everything down dietfried looked at (f/n) "its not my birthday" he said "tonight it is boy" she joked despite being mad one taste of the hot chocolate made his frustration simmer down. "is it good" (f/n) asked "shut up" he growled back (f/n) chuckled "you know some people say the rich and poor will never understand each other but I say yes in a way that is true but as humans we all are challenged by similar demons emotionally." she said Dietfried looked at (f/n) how could he be so annoyed of someone like her that half the time she made so much more sense than him. despite spending half of the whole night walking around in the frozen snow when he thought about it they did meet some amazing people. a homeless man who (f/n) gave her scarf too, a widowed father with three amazing kids, a young couple and even a older couple. each of them were so different but they were all happy for different reason's. the homeless man to receive a gift and just to be alive, the widowed father to have the day off of work to spend with his kids. the kids were happy to see their father happy, the couple was happy to spend their first holiday together as newly weds despite being broke, the older couple because even though one might not make it for another Christmas they had each other. diefried looked at (f/n) "you were sad earier because you couldn't spend the holiday with your dad but your happy to spend it with me." he said "why" he asked (f/n) looked at her half eaten burger she chuckled "your wrong I wasn't sad I was overjoyed" "overjoyed?" he questioned "to leave the base to feel happy to sit here and be me for once." she said dietfried stared into (f/n)'s eyes "well I guess we should keep the night lively don't you?" (f/n) smiled "yeah we should there is a bar not to far" "are you even at a legal age" he asked "I'm a chick who infiltrated the marines I don't think your asking the right questions" she said "I guess so" he said
