JEREMY TRIED TO HIDE THE FACT THAT HE WAS SCARED. Especially for Elena, because he knew how stubborn she was when it came to saving someone she loved.

Connor was leaning against the table Sam and Jeremy were sitting as Jeremy glanced at Sam to find him looking at Connor calmly. Jeremy looked away and only then Sam smirked. "Stop being nervous, Jeremy," Sam spoke causing Connor to glare at the boy. "Somebody's telling me we'll be just fine."

"Why would you come here?" Jeremy questioned Sam quietly as the phone at the bar suddenly rang causing Connor to go and answer the call.

Sam shushed him as he listened. "We're closed," Connor said dully.

"I want you to free the hostages," Stefan spoke from the other end calmly as Sam smirked before leaning back on his chair.

Connor snickered. "One already came ordering me to free the hostages and now he's just another hostage."

"Objection," Sam spoke from his spot. "I stayed here myself. I'm just curious."

Stefan sighed. Sam just went and ruined his plan, and now he had one more mouth to save. "I'll free them as soon as you give me what I want," Connor told Stefan. "You and everyone like you dead."

"Because that will be easy," Sam laughed causing Connor to turn back to glare at Sam, who only closed his mouth with a playful look.

"I believe Sam already told you what I know too. Your hunter's mark will grow," Stefan said as Connor looked surprised as to why so many people knew. "Yeah, I know all about that. What it means, what you are. Listen, if you free the hostages then you and I can have a little chat. I'll even tell you about the Brotherhood of the Five."

Connor laughed angrily. "Why do I need you if I have Sam, who knows just as much as you and maybe even more," Connor commented.

"Desperate," Sam said smoothly as he looked at Jeremy to see him frowning. "But Stefan is right. Klaus did save your life."

"How do you know-" Connor began as he slammed the phone down on the receiver, ending the call with Stefan.

Sam stood up as Connor approached him. "I know pretty much what I want to know. It's not that deep," Sam said as Connor clenched his jaw. "Klaus needs you alive for a reason. Aren't you curious why? Or do you just want to be this miserable hunter, not able to stop killing vampires?"
