STEFAN WAS SITTING IN THE LIVING ROOM OF HIS HOME AS HE LISTENED TO ELENA'S SHALLOW BREATHING FROM THE CELLAR. The emotionless girl was locked up ever since she tried to kill Bonnie at the prom.
The two Salvatore brothers tried to come up with something that would break Elena that she'd come back. But so far nothing worked. She was calm, didn't beg for blood and most importantly didn't try to escape.
So it became incredibly irritating causing Stefan to take drastic measures that he didn't even tell Damon.
Caroline was sitting in front of him, looking rather upset ever since the prom night. "What's on your mind?" Stefan managed to smile at her as she glanced back at him, eyes holding pain that she herself was annoyed with.
"What's on yours?" Caroline tried to avoid bringing Sam's topic to anyone because she didn't want them to question her. Yes, she did have feelings for Sam that she hadn't even realized, and yes, she did loathe him.
Stefan sighed as he sat back, letting his back rest on the leather of the couch. "When was the last time you spoke with Sam?" he asked causing her heart to almost beat out of her chest.
Caroline became annoyed again as she broke eye contact with her best friend. "I don't want to talk about Sam Rhee ever again, okay?"
"Well..." suddenly a third voice joined in from the doorway causing the vampires to turn their heads and see Sam standing there with his hands in his jeans pockets.
To Caroline, Sam looked like a poisonous fruit she craved for. She hadn't seen him for about three days and it felt like centuries.
He looked the same, not a day aged. His usual dark hair was hiding under a dark blue baseball cap as she could still see a small smirk playing on his kissable lips.
He wore a black tee shirt with a denim jacket on top. His dark jeans looked good on him and Caroline hated how good someone could look in normal everyday clothes.
Sam himself stared back at the blonde, making memories of her blonde curled hair, a beautiful necklace on her neck and her girly clothes that he grew to like.
Stefan noticed the stare they shared so he stood up, knowing that something truly happened between them. And he was regretting inviting Sam to his house with Caroline around. "Thank you for coming," Stefan then nodded his head as Sam finally glanced at him.
Stefan noticed tiredness in Sam's brown eyes - something he had never seen on him before. Behind the smile pain was hiding and Stefan felt kind of sorry for him. "I had nothing better to do," Sam mused sarcastically as he walked further into the room, stopping by the couch Stefan was previously sitting on. "Hi."
