ANOTHER NIGHT PASSED AS CAROLINE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO LEAVE SAM SOME WATER AND FOOD. Klaus, on the other hand, hadn't had blood for quite a while and he was becoming hungry. "I cure her and she doesn't pay me back..." he grumbled to himself as Sam was looking through the window.
It was morning but the sun wasn't shining brightly as Sam had wished secretly. "Why would she pay you back?" Sam asked dully as he turned to face Klaus' glare. He thought being with an Original who can't hurt you would be fun but figuring Klaus Mikaelson was too easy for Sam. "You bit her and you saved her. She doesn't owe you anything."
"It's pointless talking to you," Klaus sighed and then the doors opened. Caroline and Tyler entered the house. The blonde had a laptop in her hands while Tyler had the sword wrapped in the blanket.
Klaus was sitting on the coffee table as Sam approached him before looking at the couple standing on the other side of the barrier. "Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood," Klaus taunted Tyler again. "Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?"
"Bring me a white oak stake here. I'll kill him myself," Sam told Tyler sarcastically who only rolled his eyes.
"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure," he mused as Caroline sat down on the couch. Tyler revealed the sword of the hunter from the blanket. "Found this in your attic."
"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?" Klaus asked in amusement as Sam sat down on the couch just behind Klaus. His eyes met Caroline's causing him to smirk. She rolled her eyes.
"You tell me. I was playing around with the handle on the ride over, and I found this," Tyler then unwrapped the leather on the top of the sword, revealing some sort of turning device. Klaus got up and walked over to Tyler.
"And what do you think this is?" the original questioned as Sam looked at the sword before he stood up and approached Klaus.
Caroline got up at the same time. "It's called a cryptex," she said as her boyfriend looked at her in confusion. "I've seen the da Vinci Code. You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side," Caroline then turned the table as Sam watched her in amusement. "And with the magic of the internet, Elena sent over these."
The blonde held up a print-outs of Jeremy's tattoo. Sam had forgotten about the island and the search for the cure for a moment and when he realized what they were doing he frowned slightly. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away."
