IT WAS MIDNIGHT AS SAM SAT ON THE COUCH ON HIS SIDE OF THE ROOM. Klaus was sitting on the floor, looking at Kol's burnt body as Sam let out another deep sigh which annoyed Klaus to the very deep core. "You could've saved him but of course your stupid morals decided to let Elena Gilbert live," Klaus sneered as he turned his head to look at Sam.

Sam was laying on the couch with his eyes closed as he had his hands connected on his chest. "I could've, but I didn't," Sam answered. While Bonnie had the protection spell on him he felt safe from Klaus.

"For a moment there you looked broken for letting my reckless brother die," Klaus then stood up as he approached Sam and stood at the end of where his feet were.

Sam opened one eye before telling Klaus to move back and give him his space. "I never quite understood you, Sam Rhee," Klaus began to walk around the couch like a predator ready to attack his prey whenever he wasn't looking. "One second you're this... Unbeatable looking man that many would fear... Other times, you're letting those pesky human emotions show the human side of you."

Sam opened another eye as Klaus stood by his head. "You're not able to touch me, Klaus, unless you want to get thrown along the room again," Sam said as he sat up on the couch, his back facing Klaus. "I know what you're thinking, literally. What I don't like is that you don't see me as human because I'm not a vampire, nor am I a witch, who's also in a way a human being. I just have a gift."

Klaus smirked. "A gift that's about to be taken away from you if they awake Silas," he commented in amusement as Sam turned to face Klaus.

"If they succeed. Knowing their track record they may be already dead as we speak," Sam commented back with a smile.

Klaus laughed quietly. "Fear masked with you wanting their failure. Fascinating," he said as he sat down on the other couch in front of Sam.

Sam was looking down as Klaus continued to taunt him. "To be honest, I am interested to know what will happen if Silas is true and if he comes... I want to see your face when you're only a human being, who created so many enemies just because you felt higher than others."

Sam glanced back at Klaus as if it was a challenge. "Why are you so stupid, Klaus?" he chuckled. "My powers didn't create me enemies. It was the way I am. Cocky some might say... Even if I loose my powers I have a way to get away from things."

"Just not Caroline Forbes," Klaus started the never ending topic in Sam's mind. "You were so willing to figure her out but you stopped... I give it's the Silas thing, isn't it?"
