SUMMER HAD PASSED AND CAROLINE WAS READY TO GO OFF TO COLLEGE. She was excited about a new chapter of her life even if many people from her life were missing.
Bonnie, Tyler, Stefan and Sam. She had no idea where the last person was nor what he was doing. She was hurt to find out he lost his powers and that he left without a goodbye but she was not angry.
It wasn't her place to be mad at him.
Sam would've wanted her to move on and that's what she did. "I can't believe we're actually here," Caroline laughed as she glanced at Elena who grinned widely too.
The Whitmore campus was crawling with students and parents moving in as the two vampire girls made their way to their own new dorm room. "Yeah, we're in college. We actually made it," Elena chuckled as the two best friends stopped and smiled at each other.
Caroline's smile lingered only for a second before it disappeared. She felt weird and just shook it off. "Sam again?" Elena asked quietly causing Caroline to snap her head at Elena in confusion. "I know how you feel, Caroline. You don't have to hide it. I've been curious about him too."
"It's just... I shouldn't be worried because he made it clear he likes his powers more than me," Caroline rambled as Elena frowned slightly and nodded her head. "But I can't stop thinking that he's in pain now or worse, dead. Why is he making me feel that way?"
Elena then sighed as she grabbed Caroline's arm soothingly. "Did he leave you a message or anything?" she asked curiously but Caroline only shook her head. "But you keep getting these feelings? What are they like?"
Caroline then groaned because she didn't want to talk about it. "It's just like a pit in my stomach. Like something terrible is going on," she said as Elena widened her eyes.
"Stefan... A feeling."
"Absolutely not. Your dreams of Stefan are nothing like mine," Caroline shook her head angrily as Elena let go of her arm. "You're just guilty because you broke Stefan's heart, and that nagging feeling is your brain waking up to tell you that you've made a horrible, yet completely reversible mistake."
"Nice try," Elena grumbled as she hated how much Caroline hated her and Damon's relationship. "Besides, Stefan and I left things in a good place."
"I did too," Caroline argued before she rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry. I sound like my old self. And, it doesn't mean he hasn't been thinking about you shacking up with his brother all summer long."
"Hello - mom ears, still here," Liz then spoke causing the girls to frown then laugh. "You're in college, girls. Forget boys for a second please and enjoy that you've made it."
"Yeah! We're here!" Caroline cheered as Elena and Liz moved to walk further. Caroline remained in her spot for a second as she smiled slightly and followed right after them.
Sam Rhee may have been out from her life for these three months but she had a gut feeling he would come back someday. And she was ready to wait for a very long time.

A woman was walking around a man tied to a chair as she sprawled leaves into a circle while saying a spell.
The man was unconscious as she prepared some ritual on him with a concentrated face.
She had her eyes closed as silent words left her mouth causing the man in the chair to stir in his place. "Calm down, Stefan."
Qetsiyah then continued with her spell until someone knocked on her cabin doors. She immediately stopped her spell as she stared at the door.
A small smile appeared on her lips when another knock echoed outside. She placed a bowl she was holding on a coffee table and approached the door.
When she opened it, the face of Sam Rhee popped up in front of her. He was more handsome than before, neater and healthier. But most importantly he was more evil than before. "About some damn time," he commented as Qetsiyah smiled before moving to a side to let him in.
"About some damn time," she repeated the words causing Sam to smirk and walk inside.
