"Well, whether you like it or not, we're friends now and I don't like it when my friends are sad or lonely." Chaeyoung... Chaeng I mean, said. Really? Have I really made a friend? Am I still hallucinating? I don't think so. Before I even realize, I was already smiling from ear to ear.

Chaeng was certainly happy to see me smile that she literally threw herself to me and hugged me tightly. It's been a long time since I felt a hug and I really became happy that I subconsciously hugged her back.

After that we just talked and talked for almost 2 hours, I think. She told me that she has been visiting me everyday and I am very thankful to know that someone cared for me. I was really happy with her presence. But since I woke up, something has been bothering me and I was really hoping I could ask Chaeng about it. "You know, you almost died because of your extreme loss of blood. Good thing you have a great doctor or else you would have been a goner". She laughs mockingly but I knew this was my cue.

"My doctor, Dr. Kim right? Where is she?" I asked, almost in a whisper. "Oh I don't know. Normally she would have done her rounds by now." She said. "Have you seen her already?" I asked, hoping to have even a small description of her. Chaeng shook her head, "Only a glimpse" she said which actually was a little disappointing but it's not her fault so I can't really blame her. I still can't forget her voice when she talked to me. I still remember her blurry face which was my only way of recognizing her. I felt my face heat up a little while thinking of her. Wow, I almost died but here I am acting like a love struck teenager. I don't believe in love at first sight, especially with that blurry sight of her, but there's really something about her that makes me feel this way. I don't even understand what I'm feeling, I just want to meet her. "Are you okay? Your face looks red should I call the nurse?" Chaeng asked with a worried face. "I'm okay Chaeng. I survived two gunshots, remember? Surely a fever would really be okay with me." I said which made her laugh. I laughed with her this time. I haven't laughed like this in a long time, it's refreshing.

We continued talking about other things when someone knocked on the door. A nurse came in and said, "Good morning Officer Manoban, your doctor is here to see you now." My heartbeat suddenly went wild upon hearing what the nurse said. I can't take my eyes off the door, anticipating the doctor that would come in. My mind went blank leaving only a single thought, I was finally going to see her.

My doctor came in and my jaw dropped.

"Good morning Ms. Manoban."
