Today I was in the small council meeting for the first time since my father's death. I was drinking almost as much as Tyrion was he was only a goblet ahead of me. I wasn't really paying attention but I could see that nobody wanted to really be there. All we were talking about were a few letters from the north, Cerci ripped up the one from my brother and then we were on the topic of the knights watch and they wanted more recruits to keep us safe from the wildlings and the others.
"We should send some more men." I say suddenly speaking up for the first time today.
"To protect us from what? Magical ice monsters?" Pyter taunts smiling.
"Wildlings are still a problem and we don't have enough men to guard all the castles, we are only watching after three as of right now, castle black, shadow something and east watch by the sea, if i'm correct."
"And whos telling you this? The children of the forest?"
"Uncle Benjen before all of this went to shit and before he didn't come back from beyond the wall." I say my temper starting to flare.
"The first ranger getting lost?"
"Possibly killed. We don't know, animals up there don't exactly like to leave a meal untouched."
"Speaking of animals wheres your dire wolf?"
"I sent her away since I love her and Joffrey wants to see me in pain. Now if you will all excuse me, I have some books to read." I say glaring at Pyter then i leave the room feeling ten pounds lighter.
I brush back Sansa's hair to style it in a southern way.
"Lyanna, I want to call off the engagement." She says I yank back on her hair more than I intended to. Then force her to look at me.
"You are loyal to your one true love Joffrey Baratheon, say it, and keep on saying it until you can fool me got it? If you want to survive you need to start playing. If not tell me now and I'll kill you myself." I growl once I finish her hair I walk down to the kitchens to find a pretty girl to help my sister I can't be in politics and be a hand maid at the same time. I watch for a bit and see a woman who didn't want to be there.
"You what's your name?" I ask
"Shae." I smile at her
"Would you like to be my sisters hand maid? She needs one and I'm rather preoccupied."
"Lord Tyrion-"
"Let me deal with him, for now I'll show you to her chambers, it's quite clear that you hate the kitchen work."
I knock on Tyrion's door and hear voices inside so I burst in. Pyter and Tyrion jump a bit.
"Lord Tyrion, lord Baelish. Sorry for the intrusion but I must speak with the hand." I say pouring myself some wine.
"About what?" Tyrion asks
"A scullery maid I made her Sansa's handmaiden she was worried what you were thinking but I'll talk to you about that later, or just don't talk to me about it, whatever suits your lordship." I bow a little and walk to the gardens.
Today was another court day they went from one of my favourite days to the days where I got beaten for standing up to Joffrey. When I opened up the door I see Sansa on her knees and the king aiming a crossbow at her.
"Your grace what is the meaning of this?" I ask storming forwards.
"I'm trying to send your brother a message." He says. I scoff
"So you choose Sansa, and not his twin? I do believe if it's a message you want to be sent you should have me beaten, instead of your future queen." I speak I offer Sansa a hand up and give her my shall.
"Trant I believe that my sister in law is over dressed." I turn around and smile.
"Well your grace all you have to do is ask..." I jest while Trant rips my dress from the back.
"What do you think Sandor does it look pretty this way?" I ask spinning around I see him hide a smile. "I'll take that as a yes." Trant then hits me with the flat of his blade. I stumble forwards a bit. "Your arm is getting better, have you been practicing? Or am I just getting weaker?" Trant hits me again and reopens one of the lashes that I got. "Look at you go! First blood for Trant, not that there was much competition." The court snickers and Trant kicks the back of my knees lifts his sword high then I trip him so that he falls on his rear.
"What is the meaning of this?" I spin and see Tyrion and Bronn.
"Hello my lord and Bronn, the king thought that I should get a little change. He seems to like backless." I say Trant kicks my face.
"I do believe the hand was talking to me, it's quite rude of you to interrupt." I growl. Bronn looks at me like I am a creature of some sort.
"By the gods get this girl something to cover herself with." Sandor walks over to me and gives me his cloak.
"Thank you Sandor." I say politely Tyrion offers me a hand and I take it. "Go see my sister she seems more in need of help then I." Tyrion nods and I walk towards the exit trying to will my legs to not give out. But when I was almost to the masters chambers I fell and couldn't get up so I backed up to the wall and waited for a nice person to come and help me.
