Chapter Fifteen - My Little Flower
I woke up the next morning with a message from my boss saying that I could have the day off since she was going to be gone all day today.
I replied with a thank you and then took a shower. I changed into black shorts with a black crop top tee and my white slip on vans. I grabbed my black adidas sweater and slipped it on.
I put my hair in a high ponytail and then sat at my desk. Lately I've been doing a lot of research on NYU and other colleges in California. Just in case.
I turned at looked at the envelope that had my name on it and wondered who had sent it. I had yet to open it but my curiosity had grown.
I closed my laptop and grabbed the envelope and opened it slowly. I took out the letter inside it and slowly unfolded it.
I began to read it and just the beginning left me in shock.
Dear Thea (my little flower),
You just have questions. A ton of them too. I know I haven't been in your life for awhile now. You probably hate me for leaving and I hate myself for not taking you with me. But you more than anyone else knows how important it is to find our own selves. That's what I needed to do. I needed to find myself and it just wasn't with your mother. She was never home and our love was slowly fading away. When you kids were sleeping, your mother and I were always arguing. It just wasn't fair to either of us so I left. I'm sorry I wasn't there to see you go to your senior year prom night. I'm sorry I wasn't there to see you walk across that stage on graduation. Or make that speech for being valedictorian. I'm sorry. For everything. But I want to make things right. I want to see you. Contact me through this number: (626)-354-7655. I love you, rose. My little flower.
Sincerely,
Your Father; Andrew MontgomeryI put the letter down on the table and sighed. My father had finally contacted me. I wasn't sure if I was upset or happy or anger. I felt numb. I don't know whether I want to see him or not. He hurt me. Then again, a lot of people have been hurting me lately.
I sighed once more and shoved the letter in my desk with my acceptance letter to NYU. I grabbed my bag and keys then walked down the stairs.
"Hey, where are you off to?" Nate asked from the living room.
"Just going to get some air. I'll probably be at the park. If mom comes home early again, can you text me so I can come home." I asked.
"Yeah. Of course" Nate smiled.
"Thank." I mumbled and walked out.
I entered my car and threw my items in the passenger's seat. I looked down at my phone and grabbed it. I scrolled through my contacts and called the one person who I could openly talk about my father with.

I knocked on the door in front of me and Jack Johnson opened it.
"Hey." He smiled lightly.
"Can I come in?" I asked.
"Of course." He said and moved out of the way so I could go in.
His house was nice and a bit bigger for just two people. I walked in the living room and saw Gilinsky on his phone while sitting on the couch.
