Chapter Twenty - The Truth
I made it to work on time today just like I had told Shawn. I was currently in the studio working on a new song with him.
It was called Bad Reputation. It was honestly one of my favorite songs that I wrote with him.
"How was that?" Shawn asked as you got out of the booth.
"You could've done a bit better on that high-note and seriously you gotta learn the song. I can't have this sounding forced." I sighed and threw a water at him which he caught easily.
"Maybe later." Shawn shrugged.
"Whatever. I'm only helping you on this because you're helping me pack later today." I gave him a pointed look.
"I know. I still remember." Shawn said and sat on the small couch in the studio.
"Good. Because you are not getting out of this one." I smirked and turned towards my laptop that I had brought with me today so that I could work on Shawn's song. "Now, back inside so we could get this right and please act like you know the lyrics at least. You wrote some of them." I sighed.
"Fine." Shawn chuckled. "By the way, I knew the lyrics this whole time. Just wanted to mess with you." He smiled and walked inside the booth.
"I'm throwing the water bottle at your face in full speed next time." I narrowed my eyes at him.
A couple hours later, we had finally finished recording the damn song.
"Finally!" I yelled as we walked out of the building.
"We're taking your car because I got an Uber today." Shawn chuckled.
"Whatever. You're still driving." I shrugged and threw my keys at him which he caught.
We drove to my house and I saw Grant waiting outside of my house.
"Told you." Shawn said and got out of the car.
"Damn it." I mumbled and got out after him.
I saw Shawn give a quick wave to Grant and walk inside closing the door behind him.
"Asshole." I mumbled and began walking to the porch.
"Thea.." Grant said and looked at me with a bit of sadness.
"I told you I was done." I said and tried to walk past him to my door but he blocked the way.
"Can we talk about this? Please." He pleaded.
"Grant, there is nothing else to talk about. I gave you multiple chances. Multiple. You ruined every single one." I scowled.
"I know but I can't just let you go so easily." Grant frowned and held on to my hand but I slipped my hand out.
"But you did. You let me slip out of your hands so easily. I gave you one last chance for us to start fresh. Instead, you went to Johnson's house and made things worse. I remember you telling me that he wasn't that bad of a guy when we first met. Yet the whole time we've hung out together, all you've told me is that he is not to be trusted." I sighed.
