Chapter Twenty Two - The Music Awards

I woke up to the sound of a piano. I stood up from the bed and quickly realized that it wasn't mine. I slid out to see I was still in my clothes from yesterday and when my feet hit the ground I felt a blanket.

Someone had slept on the floor. Wow, I feel messed up now. I just took their huge bed for my tiny body.

Also, this house is fricken cold so I have no idea how this person slept on the floor. I shivered and grabbed a black hoodie that was hung over the desk chair. I slid it on and it was a bit big since it reached my mid thigh and the sleeves were longer than my hands which was okay. On the hoodie, I saw it said gone with four different colored roses.

I walked out the door and noticed it was the Jacks' house. I went to the room I heard the piano in and saw Johnson focused and playing. He was also mumbling some lyrics.

I knocked two times on the doorframe and it made Johnson quickly stop what he was doing and look at me which made me smile softly.

"By all means, don't stop what you're doing. I like it." I smiled.

"Is that my sweater?" Johnson asked and narrowed his eyes at me playfully.

"Maybe. It's like the fricken North Pole in this house. Are you hiding Santa Claus in the next room?" I joked.

"Yeah and his elves are making us endless supplies of cookies and a bunch of toys." Johnson joked too.

"I knew it. Anywho, like I said before, don't let me stop you from what you're doing." I smiled and walked near the couch.

"Just be extra quiet. I have to feel like it's just me and the piano." Johnson smiled back.

I nodded and sat on the couch. I got in a comfortable position and Johnson sighed.

He continued doing what he was doing before I walked in and his humming sounded nice and relaxing. I closed my eyes and just bobbed my head to the rhythm.

Once I had gotten into the rhythm, Johnson began to sing softly:

I'll be your distraction,
your distraction
I'll be your distraction,
your distraction
'Cause he don't even matter,
even matter
Baby we can shut the world out

There's no need for second guessin'
I'm here to pick you back up
Be right here with me now

My love it don't come with stressin'
I give you more than enough
I'm right here with you now

Once he stopped singing, I opened my eyes and smiled.

"I know my singing isn't the best but that's why Gilinsky will be singing the chorus. I'll just be like a backup singer during the chorus." Johnson began to say.

"Jack, your voice was amazing. I would know. I work with a lot of talent at Island Records." I smiled and sat next to him on the piano bench.

"It's not as great as G's voice. That guy can sing like an angel." Johnson said.

"So do you." I smiled at him as he looked down at me.
