Chapter 5

After the movie was over we said goodbye to all of our friends. Luckily for the rest of the night I was able to ignore Luke and eventually forget about him. Although sometimes I would just casually look around and catch Luke staring angrily at Ashton and I.

When we got back to my house Ashton walks me to my door. I was hoping he wasn't thinking about kissing me. I wasn't sure what I felt for Ashton and I needed to think about it.

"That was really fun." He says reaching for my hands.

"It was. Thanks for inviting me." I reply smiling.

"Anytime. You're apart of our group now. So expect more invites. Especially from me."

"I'll look forward to it." I say shyly looking down smiling.

"Goodnight." He leans in and kisses my cheek. I was glad that he only went for my cheek.

When I walk in the house I realize everyone is asleep. Luckily it was a little before 9:15 so I was home just in time. I texted my dad so he would know when he woke up that I came home safe.

I throw my phone onto my bed and put on some sweat pants. My phone buzzes and I get a text from Liv.

Dude I think Ashton might like you!!!

I smiled at the text. I felt like a small part of me actually liked him. I admit I did get butterflies whenever he was sweet to me.

I know :), he made it pretty obvious when he dropped me off tonight.

Eventually after texting Olivia for a little bit I drift off to sleep.

The next day Ashton is more flirty than usual towards me. Probably because I wasn't pushing him away last night so he figured I felt the same. I went along with it. I figured to help myself figure out how I felt about him I would go along with him. Every now and then I would catch Luke giving us nasty looks. Ashton never seemed to notice.

During our study hall period I decide to confront Luke. I was tired of how I was being treated by him and I wanted to know why.

I send a text to Olivia to let her know what I'm about to do.

I'm gonna confront Luke for being a jerk. I wanna know what's up. It's just kinda childish how he's acting.

A minute later I get a text from Liv.

Omg about time. I'm glad your standing up for yourself. Can I tell the boys just in case something goes wrong?

I tell her that I've already told Ashton about the situation and that he's got my back. He texted Luke saying that he needed to talk to him during study block and to meet him by the bathrooms. Little does he know I'll be the one there.

I get more nervous as we go throughout the day. Getting closer to the time I'm going to confront Luke. I didn't even know what I was going to say. All I knew was that I was angry for him being a jerk. I just wanted to be friends with the guys, Olivia and him. Even if he didn't want to be friends with me, why couldn't he respect that?

It's finally fourth period and Olivia, Calum, and I are on our way to study hall. "You got this babes!" She says before giving me a hug.

Five minutes after the period begins I excuse myself to go to the nurses office. I didn't know if this confrontation with Luke was going to take a lot of time or not. So I decided to go with the nurses office as an excuse.

When I walk out of class down the hall I see Luke leaning against the wall. Luckily Ashton told him to meet where there aren't many classrooms around.
As I walk towards him he stands up straight with a confused and annoyed look plastered on his face.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asks with his brow furrowing.

"I'm here to talk to you. Luke I don't know you at all, and you don't know me. I have no idea why you're being so mean to me? So what if I'm friends with your friends? You don't have to be friends with me! But you could at least respect that we have the same friends! I mean damn Luke is that to hard to ask?" I'm yelling by the time I finish my sentence hoping that no one can hear us.

For a few moments he doesn't say anything. The awkward tension between us grows every second. Each second only making me angrier from the silence.

I almost start going off on Luke again when I suddenly feel warm lips collide with mine. His soft warm lips are colliding with mine. My stomach is doing a million flips a second. After a few moments he pulls away and stares at me.

"What are you doing?" I ask quietly.

He pauses and looks at me confused for a moment. "I-I'll see you tomorrow."

Before I know it he runs off. My stomach is filling with butterflies as I stand alone in the hallway. Did Luke just kiss me? I couldn't believe that happened. I thought he hated me. Did he? So many thoughts are filling in my mind.

When I walk back to class I spot Ashton in his class. "You good?" He mouths holding a thumbs up.

I send a thumbs up as fast as I can and keep walking. After realizing that Luke just kissed me the next few thoughts flood my brain.

What was I gonna tell Ashton?
