Liv quickly gets up and runs out of the room. "What are you doing?" I say as she runs out her door.
"Just get dressed! Pick out some cute clothes from my drawers!" She yells back.
I manage to get myself off of the bed and walk over to her drawers. I rummage through her neatly folded clothes and pick out a violet cropped halter top, high waisted jean shorts, and my black vans. When I'm done Liv comes rushing back through the door. "Where are we going? I look a mess." I say pointing at my puffy red eyes.
"Don't worry we'll get that fixed up. We're going to have a little friend date!" She says throwing her arms in the air.
"I can't tell you exactly what we're doing, but I assure you that you will be seeing all of your favorite friends tonight! Also Crystal is coming over." She pulls me over to her desk where all of her makeup is sitting. She helps me out by covering up my red puffy eyes with some concealer, some light brown eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.
"There, that should cover it up. You look beautiful." She says finishing up my eyeliner.
I walked over to her full length mirror and gave a weak smile. Liv comes up behind me and rests her chin on my shoulder. "I promise you'll have fun tonight." She says with a wide smile.
A moment later we hear the doorbell ring. "Looks like Crystals here, I'll go get her!" Liv runs out of the room to get Crystal. I sit on the bed and check my phone to see if I have any missed texts. Only ones from my sister checking up on me.
I looked up from my phone to see Liv and Crystal coming through the door. Crystal comes over and sits next to me on the bed, she hands me a CD from my favorite band Bring Me The Horizon. "I heard you liked them and so do I, I thought this might cheer you up." She says with a smile.
I give her the biggest hug. "Oh my gosh I love them, I haven't been able to get ahold of their new album. This is great, thank you!"
Liv stands up from her chair and walks over to the bed. "Are we ready to go ladies?" She asks. I give them a confused look and they both drag me to Crystal's car.
The drive to our destination consists of us listening to our favorite songs, and even some of the boys songs. Singing out loud with the music on full blast and the wind blowing in our hair was surely helping me feel better.
Liv turns down the music and I instantly recognize where we are. We arrive at Luke's house but there's no sign of any cars. "What are we doing here?" I ask confused. Liv and Crystal both look at each other and smile. "Follow us!" Crystal yells.
We walk around the house to the backyard and I'm amazed at what I was seeing. White christmas lights were hanging from all over the place. They were draped from one pole to another creating a criss-cross pattern above us. In the middle of the lawn there is all of the boys instruments that they use on stage. In front of the stage is Luke's truck, the bed filled with blankets and pillows. Next to the truck are a few outdoor tables with chairs. Everything looked amazing. I was instantly happy to see all of my best friends. I can't believe they did this for me.
"So what do you think?" Luke says walking towards me. I run straight for him and jump into his arms. He picks me up off the ground and twirls me around in a tight hug. Somehow, just his arms around me made me feel better then anything.
"This is amazing!" I say kissing him over and over again.
Michael walks over and puts his arms around Crystal. "We had to practice for tomorrow anyway, and Liv came up with the perfect idea." He says with a smile.
I run over and give Liv the tightest hug I could. "I freakin' love you!" I say squishing her. She makes a gagging sound giving me the indication I am squeezing a little too hard. I loosen my grip and we both start giggling.
I turned around to see Ashton coming toward me, a awkward expression across his face. It had been a few days since I talked to him. When he gets to me he stares at the ground, moving grass around with his foot. "Can we just have a second?" I say to Luke. He nods and everyone walks in the other direction.
"Ash, I'm so sor-" He cuts me off.
"No Al, I'm sorry. I had no idea what you're going through. And I didn't know your feelings for Luke, or his for you. I should have backed off, and I shouldn't have left you alone when your not in a good place. Al, I'm so sorry." Sadness builds up in his voice.
"Ashton, you don't need to be sorry. I should have told you from the beginning, I just didn't want to hurt you. And I didn't want to risk losing the friendship we had. I cherish it so much, I don't want to lose that again. Is there anyway we can move on?"
He pulls me into a tight hug. "Of course." I can feel a smile move across his lips.
"So, are Luke and I gonna be a problem?" I say quietly.
"Not at all, both of my best friends are happy. I've come to realize that." A smile appears on his lips, and on mine as well.
We walk back over to the truck where all our friends were sitting. "So do you have some songs to sing us?" I ask the boys.
"That we do." Calum replies giving me a wink.
The boys get on the stage and get themselves ready. Luke was standing in the very front where the microphone was. He looked amazing. He was wearing a black Led Zeppelin t-shirt with a red and black checkered flannel over it, black skinny jeans, and converse. Even the simplest outfits made him look so good.
"So this song, I made for the beautiful girl in the front here. I hope you like it, it's called Long Way Home." He smiles at me and looks down at his guitar. Meanwhile the girls, sitting on either side of me, are squealing about how cute Luke's words are. They definitely were not wrong.
They all begin to play a song I've never heard before, but I instantly loved.
Take me back to the middle of nowhere, back to the place only you and I share, remember all the memories. The fire flies and make believe.
Kicking back in the old school yard, singing songs on my guitar, this is our reality. Crazy stupid you and me. We know this is the way It's supposed to be.
So were taking the long way home, cause I don't wanna be wasting my time alone. I wanna get lost and drive forever baby.
My heart fluttered as he sang the words. Liv, Crystal, and I sang along and put our flashlights on our phones in the air, swaying back and forth. I didn't think life could get better than this.
We danced around the bed of the truck through a few more songs, when Luke began to tell us that the next one was a slow one.
The girls and I leaned against the back of the truck singing along to the song, which was called Beside You. Liv and Crystal were swaying back and forth singing along. I couldn't help but just stare at Luke. The way he looked so into what he was doing was amazing.
She sleeps alone, my heart wants to come home. I wish I was, I wish I was, beside you.
I couldn't help but tear up from how happy I was. As Luke was more than halfway through the song it started raining. It felt like we were in a movie. Liv, Crystal, and I started laughing from the makeup running down our faces from the rain. The boys had finished singing and I ran to Luke and kissed him as hard as I could. He rested his hands against the side of my head and smiled his big dorky smile.
"I love you, Alia."
My heart skipped a beat hearing the words, a huge smile appeared on my face. Then I knew.
"I love you, Luke."
