I'm re-writing the part when Rose and Dimitri came back to the academy because someone asked for it.
xoxo--- Rukhsanna
Dimitri and I pulled up to the academy at about seven at night. It wasn't that late, but for some reason I was tired. Dimitri went to the back of the trunk and grabbed my bags and his. I jumped out of the car and grabbed my stuff.
"For the rest of the night, you will stay in your dorm and get caught up on your homework assignments. Your teachers have told me that you're nearly failing some of their classes," Dimitri said. I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm not doing homework when the other students are on a fun camping trip. That's so unfair!" I said as we walked back towards my dorm.
"Actually, the other students are going to be doing learning activities tomorrow. And tomorrow you will be in the gym all day. I'm spending the day with my family so I trust that you'll be okay on your own." There is no way I'm spending the whole day in that gym. But, I had a plan.
"Sure, comrade. You can trust me. I will be a good student who listens to her mentor when she's told to do something," I lied. Dimitri gave me a confused look and I could tell he was debating whether or not to believe me. I smiled at him.
"Okay, Rose. But don't let me down," he warned. "Lately you've been making me really proud, don't change that."
I nodded and pretended to be a good student. My plan was to go to the gym as I was told and bring my laptop and junk food. Tonight, I will sneak into the cafeteria and take the junk food as soon as I know Dimitri's in bed. He usually falls asleep at eleven when he doesn't have a shift for guarding. I would leave my dorm at eleven-thirty, climb out my window like I used to do. There was a bush at the bottom and if I land on it, I should be fine.
Dimitri walked me all the way to my dorm. "Remember Rose, stay in your dorm. You've already had dinner so you should be fine. If you need anything, only if it's an emergency, you go down to the dorm watcher and have them call me. There are still guardian's and hall monitor's everywhere so don't think you won't get caught if you're doing anything stupid," he told me.
"Comrade, stop worrying! Go spend time with your family, they're not here for much longer," I told him. He nodded. Out of nowhere, Dimitri kissed my forehead and then he left before I could ask him why the hell he just did that.
I closed my door and went to have a shower because I had dirt on my body and under my nails. I haven't felt this gross in a long time. My hair also had knots all over it. When I was done showering, I actually did homework because I needed to prove to Dimitri that I do listen sometimes. And if he asks for proof that I did listen to him, I would have some. At eleven, I got dressed in all black and when it turned eleven-thirty, I began climbing out my window.
Luckily, there were vines that reached about halfway down the dorm building. For the rest of the way down, I jumped landing in the bushes. I scraped my legs and arms up even though I had my clothing fabric covering. I had a long scratch on my neck but thankfully, I didn't get any on my face. Dimitri would definitely be suspicious if I had scratches on my face. Since I'm a dhampir, I heal fast so I'm not concerned about my neck not healing on time.
I climbed out of the bushes and made a run for it towards the school because that's where the cafeteria was. I almost got caught by some guardians but I jumped behind some trees just in time. Some of the guardians I recognized, but some I had no idea who the hell they were. I finally made my way to the school but it was locked!
"Damnitt!" I whispered yelled. There's got to be another way in. I looked around and then I found an open window at the side of the building. I jumped into it and then I realized I was standing in Guardian Stan Alto's classroom. I enjoyed to call me Stany boy but I always found my self in Headmistress Kirova's office. I haven't been in trouble for a while, but when I do, Dimitri teaches, or so he thinks he teaches me, a 'life lesson' about what a mature guardian asks like. I decided maybe I'd do a little snooping to see what grades I am getting in this class. And then maybe I'd go to Kirova's office and check my records.
I went to his desk and pulled out the student marks. Rose Hathaway, I was in the middle of the list. Apparently, I had a sixty in this class. That's not failing! Ten percent away from failing is great for me. Vasilisa Dragomir, she had a ninety-five. Of course, she's always been extremely smart. I've always been the rebellious friend and she's been the friend who is always following the rules and getting great marks.
I headed to Kirova's office but it was locked. I grabbed my bobby pin from my hair and picked the lock. I actually did it! I cheered myself for a second and then headed into her office. I was about to go to the student files, but something caught my eye. A file that was labeled Strigoi Attacks. I opened it and there were photos of bodies that were torn apart.
Oh, God!
I read through the files and a lot of the threats had notes on them that had to do with the royal families. Lissa. She was in danger! I saw a similar attack when Dimitri and I had witnessed it a couple weeks ago before we went to the ski lodge. People have been keeping this from me, including Dimitri, when they all knew that this information was important for me to know so I could protect Lissa. I grabbed all the files in anger and ran towards Dimitri's dorm area. I'm going to kill him for keeping all of this information from me. Just as I was about to enter his building, the door flung open and someone I didn't want to see here was face to face with me
"Rose?" Tasha said. My jaw dropped when I saw her. What the hell was she doing here? And why was she leaving Dimitri's building at one in the morning? (A/N-- I'm using human time schedule for this fanfiction because it's easier) "Aren't you supposed to be asleep at your dorm right now?" Tasha asked.
"That's none of your damn business," I hissed. Her face showed shock by tone, but I didn't care. I hated her for trying to take Dimitri away. I hated her because she was in love with Dimitri. "The real question is why you're leaving Dimitri's room at this late?"
"What is that you're holding? Are those files?" She questioned. I didn't feel like talking to her anymore, so I walked into the building towards Dimitri's room. When I reached his room, I knocked very loudly and impatiently.
The door swung open to a shirtless Dimitri that looked like he had just woken up but I knew he had just been talking to Tasha, maybe even hooking up with her. "Rose?" he questioned in a confused voice. "What are you doing here? And what are those in your--" I cut him off.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I threw the files at him roughly. "I thought I could trust you, you told me that I could trust you!" I yelled. Dimitri grabbed my arm roughly and pulled me into his room. I was sat down on his bed as he opened up the files. His eyes widened as he realized what was in them.
"How did you get these?" He questioned shaking his head. "I told you to stay in your dorm!"
"I got them from Kirova's office. This school should really get better security because I easily climbed through a window, used a bobby pin to open Kirova's office and found these. How could you keep something like this from me?!" I yelled.
"Because you aren't a guardian yet! You are not mentally in a state where you can hear these things. And that's fine because you just lost Mason, your best friend. You've been through so much. And frankly, it wasn't even my choice whether or not I told you, so stop pointing fingers like a child!"
"You know what, stay the hell away from me!" I said pushing him out of the way, but Dimitri grabbed my hands and shoved me against a wall.
"Stop walking away when you have a problem, Rose! Running isn't going to make your problems go away, they'll just stay there haunting you! Grow. Up."
I looked him in the eyes and all I could see was love and anger. I grabbed his face and kissed him. I don't know why I did it. I was so angry at him but I couldn't help it. I felt his lips move against mine and he pinned my arms above my head on the wall. I was so angry but so in love.
