Camping, Again?!

Guardian Bender said he had a special surprise for the novices today that was waiting for us outside. I'm willing to bet the 'surprise' is running around the stupid field to improve our physical stamina. I just want to be back at St. Vladimir's watching a movie with Lissa and Vicktoria. I even miss making fun of Christian! The guy has started to grow on me, but I still think Lissa could do better.

I followed the group of novices outside with Eddie walking beside me. I still got a few glances and glares in my direction but I didn't care. I wasn't here to make friends with these novices. They all seem overconfident, judgemental and rude.

I looked around to see if I could spot Dimitri. I then found him walking beside a pretty blond woman with fair skin. Who the hell was that women and why was she talking to Dimitri? I decided to ignore it. I wasn't going to let me being jealous over another woman like what happened with Tahsha effect my day.

"Rose?" Eddie said tapping my shoulder.

"Yeah?" I asked feeling a little out of it.

"You okay? You were ignoring me for about a minute there. You were completely zoned out," he pointed out. I grinned at him showing him a was perfectly fine.

"I'm fine. Just a little tired from the flight and I didn't get a lot of sleep last night," I admitted. He flew he arm over my shoulder. I laughed when he purposely messed up my hair. "Don't mess up this masterpiece," I said smiling. He rolled his eyes.

We walked for about another minute until we were at the edge of the forest... weird. What would we be doing here? I thought that the guardians didn't want anyone even near the forest. Maybe it was different for these novices.

I then noticed a bunch of bags on the ground with food, water, tents, and other necessities. Why the hell was there a freakin' tent?! I looked over to Dimitri and he glanced at me giving me a warning look not to freak out. I glared at him and turned my head towards to where guardian Bender was standing.

"What is this?" One of the cocky guy novices asked.

"Well, Noah. This is what I call camping," Guardian Bender said.

Hell no!

I just went camping with St.Vladimir and it went terribly! The food was terrible, the sleep was awful and not to mention the bugs! They literally ate me alive. I will not camp again. I made a vow to myself that I would never go camping again when Dimitri took me back to the academy from the trip.

"I will be pairing you guys up with partners by drawing your names at of this bowl," he held up a bowl with paper in it that said our names. I better not end up with some obnoxious jerk. Maybe he'll put me with Eddie because we don't know anyone else. "Me, guardian Belikov and guardian Love will be going around to make sure everyone is safe. The reason we're doing this is to see how you guys would do in a situation where you have minimal resources and minimal supervision and help. You will be graded on this at the end."

"This is bullshit," I muttered under my breath. Eddie looked down at me a frowned.

"Rose, if you go into with a good attitude, then you might actually enjoy it," Eddie said trying to encourage me.

"Thanks, dad," I said sarcastically. Eddie rolled his eyes. "How many nights do we have to stay out there for?" I asked hoping it was short.

"Three but some of you might have to leave early due to not being able to cook your food, which means you couldn't make a fire," Guardian Bender replied. "You will each be given a pack that has food, flashlights, matches, sleeping bags, and other necessities. One of you will have your tent in their bag and the other will be carrying the water which is also quite heavy."
