Rose's POV

I woke up to Dimitri calling mine and Eddie's name to wake up. I groaned and opened my eyes slowly to see that we arrived at the airport. Dimitri opened my side of the door and then went to do the same to Eddie. He must really be worried about the time if he's opening the door for us. I stood up and opened the trunk to grab my things. We had a private plane because the academy didn't always trust humans. There will most likely be other Moroi and Dhampir on the plane going to Russia.

It took Eddie and Dimitri a couple minutes to pull their things out of the trunk and then we began walking toward the private plane lot. There was only one plane but I could already tell that there were other passengers because there were others standing around with luggage. I then saw a guy in handcuffs with guardians around him. What the hell did he do? He was obviously a novice because he looked young and didn't have a promise mark yet at the back of his neck.

"What the hell happened there?" Eddie said to me. I looked up at him and shrugged.

"I wonder why he's going to Russia. It's weird that a Dhampir would have guardians around them. Especially five," I said still staring at him. The guy suddenly turned his head in my direction and when he saw me and Eddie staring, he glared. He did not  scare me. Nobody did. I glared right back at him but then he stuck up his middle finger. It was sort of funny because he had to lift up both hands because of his handcuffs. But I wasn't about to let this guy get away with it.

I stuck up both my middle fingers at him and stuck my tongue out. And then I mouthed 'don't mess with me.' Dimitri then realized what I was doing and then grabbed my hands down to stop me from sticking my middle fingers up at him.

"Rose! Stop it," he demanded. "You're acting like an infant," he insulted me. I rolled my eyes and then I heard someone say that the plane was boarding. This is going to be so boring. But at least I'll have Eddie to talk to. I doubt Dimitri would even talk to me. He'll be too busy reading his western novel to concentrate on me. He never really has time for me. "Let's go. You and Eddie will be sitting at the very back at the left side. Try not to cause too much trouble," he warned and looked at me specifically.

"Where will you be sitting?" I asked, my eyebrows raised. He was ditching us.

"I will be sitting in the seat in front of yours, Rose," Dimitri explained. "I thought that you two might like to sit beside each other and talk, considering this will be your last long period of time for doing nothing. There are also meals provided and movies. You two should be fine. And if you're going to the washroom, let me know. I need to know where you two are at all time. You're my responsibility because you're both minors and students of the academy."

"I'm almost eighteen. In less than two months," I said with a smirk. "Soon, I won't be your problem," I said with a little bit of sass.

"You'll always be my problem," he muttered thinking I didn't hear him. Luckily, I don't think Eddie heard him because he was too busy doing something on his phone. I wanted a phone so badly but the academy wouldn't let me. They say that it's too much of a risk for me to be able to have contact with people outside of the academy besides my mother. Like I would ever call her. She doesn't even want to ever talk to me, at least she never takes the initiative too.

"Step forward please," a security guard said annoyed that we hadn't been paying attention to that it was our turn. "Please place your suitcases, bags, and any metal items on here," she said. I took off my earrings and placed all my belongings on the security check out place. These people were all guardians so they let weapons to protect the Moroi through. No other types of things that could in danger someone on the plane. When my suitcase went through, the buzzer went off.
