As Dimitri kisses traveled down my neck, I let out a moan and then Dimitri suddenly pulled away. He raced back-wards to the other side of the room like I had the Black Plague or something. I was breathing very heavily and so was Dimitri. Then, he started to shake his head and placed his head in his hands.

"What's wrong?" I asked feeling sick to my stomach all of a sudden because of his rejection. But there was no way I was going to cry over him. I am Rose Hathaway, no one makes me cry.

"That shouldn't have happened," Dimitri said avoiding my eye contact. That's when I felt tears burn my eyes. No, I will not cry!

"What do you mean that shouldn't have happened?! You kissed me back, Dimitri. Why are you denying your feelings all the time? I know you like me back!" I practically yelled at him. His eyes suddenly made eye contact with mine and it felt like he was burning a hole through my skull with his glares.

"I don't like you in any other way, Rose. You need to understand that? Do you hear me, Rose? I have no feelings for you in any other way other then feelings for you as a mentor would to their student," Dimitri said with a guardian tone.

"You already told me a couple months ago that you did have feelings for me! You can't lie to me anymore! You've kissed me in the past, just a few weeks ago, a little after Mason's funeral!" I said with my voice cracking. He was breaking me and I was already broken by Mason's death. I don't know how much longer I can take it.

"Rose..." Dimitri said as if he didn't know how to reply to that.

"Don't Rose me! Why are you lying about your feelings for me? Are you and Tasha hooking up or something?" I asked. I saw the shock in his face as soon as I accused him of hooking up with Tasha.

"That is none of your concern," Dimitri said crossing his arms.

My chest started to hurt and I couldn't breathe properly anymore. He didn't deny hooking up with Tasha. Oh, god. Dimitri's eyes soften when he saw a tear drop out of my eye. I backed away from him, shaking my head. I swung the door open and ran out as fast as my feet could take me. I felt like I was going to die, I felt so betrayed by Dimitri. I hated Tasha... I could kill her right now.

I ran towards the forest and didn't even know where I was headed. It was cold but I didn't care. Right now, I didn't even care whether or not I got sick or not. Eventually, I made it to one of the cabins, but luckily it wasn't the one Tasha had stayed in. These cabins were for guardians a long time ago and they would stay out here protecting the school borders.

I opened the cabin door and looked around. Most of the cabins have been re-done so guest at the academy had a place to stay. This one was beautiful. It had a bathroom, a bedroom and a living room which had a fireplace that heated the cabin up. I decided not to use the fireplace in case Dimitri came looking. Dimitri would instantly see the fire and come in. I couldn't handle seeing him right now.

I took off my black sweater, shoes, and pants, leaving me in a black tank top without a bra and a white underwear. I headed to the washroom and rinsed my face with cold water, it felt so good. After that, I headed back to the room in the cabin. I pulled back the sheets of the bed and climbed in. I turned on the lamp and then I saw it.

Mason. He was standing right in front of me again, but he wasn't alone. There, stood Lissa's parents, Natalie and a bunch of guardians that died in attacks. I screamed so loudly that my ears popped. "Go away!" I screamed, swinging the bedroom door open and running towards the exit. But before I could open the door, it swung open and there stood Dimitri. I threw my arms around him because I could still see all the 'ghost' people. Dimitri clearly couldn't see them. "Make them go away, please!" I begged, crying on his shoulder.

"Make who go away Rose?" Dimitri said stroking my hair.

"Them!" I said squeezing him even harder. My hands gripped his shirt with all my strength. Tears were rushing down my face as I watched Mason step closer to me. "Ahhh!" I screamed as he reached out to touch me.

"Rose, shhh, it's okay," Dimitri kind of cooed. He picked me up and brought me back towards the bedroom in the cabin. I punched at him a begged him to not bring me back in there. I even grabbed the door frame, so instead, Dimitri laid be down on the couch. He put a blanket on me and kissed my forehead. "I'm sorry, Roza. I'm so, so sorry. I haven't been sleeping with anyone. I would never." He stroked my cheek and removed some of my tears. "And we need to talk about what you were talking about when you asked me to make them go away. Not right now, of course, you need to sleep, Roza." He kissed my forehead again and then I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
