The next morning.

"WHAT?!" I screamed in anger. "You have to be joking..." I ran my hands through my hair, turning my back on Tony and Fury. They had just told me that in 2 days id be moving in with a family in Queens. Id still go to that science school that they told me about, and id still be allowed to visit... once in a while. "Its for your own good! You need to be a normal kid for a while!" Tony explained, bringing me out of my thoughts. "Plus we don't have an explanation of what happened last night and you haven't experienced anything like this until you came here..." Fury added. "So let me stay! You need me here to figure out what happened don't you?" I pleaded. "No, we can figure out what happened later. What's important is that you need to leave." Tony continued. "I-I thought you wanted me here, f-family, what happened to that..." I asked feeling the tears build in my eyes. "Kid, don't do this. Can't you see this is hard for me!" He said sighing. "It doesn't look like it, seems like the easiest thing for you guys to do is ship me away the second things get difficult." I said, my voice turning cold.

"You know what, this is getting personal, ill leave you guys to it." Fury said exiting the room. " We only want what's best for you, stop thinking were against you. And trust me, this IS hard for me, you mean something to me now... wow, I can't believe I just said that, Rogers was right, I am going soft." Tony admitted, looking at the floor. "So am I..." I muttered. I still had my doubts but thinking rationally this is what id always wanted, a normal home. Going to school and making friends... now I was being offered that on a silver platter but I don't want to go because I have Steve, Tasha, Bruce, Clint, Rhodes and Tony, maybe even Thor, I'm still undecided about him.

I wouldn't have given a single fuck over these glorified people a few weeks ago and now they were my friends, my family. And they were being ripped from me. All good things must come to an end, I saw this coming but it still hit me hard. "How long," I whispered breaking the silence. Tony looked up from the ground "What?" he asked. "How long," I spoke up. "It depends, could be a few months, weeks, days?..." he replied. "Ok." is all I said before leaving to find Natasha. I knew exactly where she would be. I stopped at my room to change into a pair of sweats and tank top. I found her in the training room upstairs, she had Happy pinned down on the boxing mat. "Best 2 of 3?" he asked her hopeful as she leaned down to give him a hand. "Nope, Astrid's here!" She said dropping him with a thud and coming towards me. "Wanna start your training? I asked Stark, he said no but I think it'll be fine." she said. "Yea sounds good." I replied. so I'm guessing she doesn't know I'm leaving huh. "Ok, well you have no experience with fighting so I guess I'll teach you how to throw a proper punch for starters." We trained for 6 hours and by the time we were done I could successfully throw a good punch and get out of a situation if I were pinned on the ground. Happy brought us food and water throughout the day and stayed in the room watching and giving "tips" to me. It was fun aside from the exhaustion. But I knew tomorrow id barely be able to walk.

"You did good today, it was fun practicing with someone new." Tasha said ruffling my hair. "Thanks Nat, I'll miss you." I said. "What do you mean you'll miss me?" shit, fuck. "Oh, uh. I'm, well i'm leaving." I sighed giving up. "What?" she asked putting down her water bottle. "Tony and Fury... they're sending me away." I admitted. "Stark, that little shit." she muttered before turning and leaving the room. "Your not going anywhere, don't worry." she said exiting the room. I sighed, If only she was right. I decided to not get myself involved and instead head towards my room.

I stripped out of the dirty clothes and got in the shower. I sighed and shut my eyes as the hot water soothed my aching body. I had a long shower and once I was content with the smell of vanilla I now radiated, I got out and put on a new pair of sweats and a hoodie, what a surprise I know. I decided to see what was going down now ignoring my body telling me to stay and go to sleep. I found them in the conference room. I decided to hide in the shadow of the hallway instead of making my presence known, "No, I'm not having this discussion anymore, she's leaving and that's final." I heard Tony say. "You can't do this, she's confused herself with her powers and you want to send her away? You know that's a terrible idea, and who knows what else she's capable of, the best place to find the extent of her powers is here and you better than anyone else knows that." Steve shot back. "Are you in charge here old man? Cause last time I checked I was her guardian, not you." Tony said sarcastically. He's my guardian? What. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Tony himself was suddenly standing in front of me, "You're too sneaky for your own good you know." he said tucking my hair behind my ear and walking away.

I sighed and walked into the conference room I flopped down in one of the empty chairs, no one spoke. "You know what, let's do something fun." Steve said suddenly. "Like what, we can't exactly go out altogether." Bruce pointed out. "Fine let's stay in, and... watch movies!" Steve said.
