----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 days later.

No one from the little group reached out to me over the weekend, I didn't bother either. Monday morning when I sat in my usual place next to Jazz she barely acknowledged me sitting there, just turned around to ask Kevin, the boy who sat behind us, about the project we were working on. She's never said one word to him before.

Lunch was even weirder, I was walking with MJ to the cafeteria when a hand grabbed me and turned me around, Grace smiled sweetly at MJ.

"Can I borrow her for a sec?"

"Uh, yeah, sure. You know where to find me." MJ gave me a look that said good luck before I was pulled away into an empty hallway.

"Hey, Grace, what's uhm, up?" I hugged my books to my chest, feeling weird under her icy stare.

"Why'd you do that?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't act stupid, bail on our plans and spend the night with MY crush." she said and started to pace.

"Ok, what? I didn't want to leave MJ out, I invited her but Collin made it pretty clear that most of you don't even like her." I threw my hand up in frustration, I thought petty drama only existed in stupid teen books, apparently not.

"That's not an excuse, you know I like her."

"Yet you continue to hang out with people who don't for no valid reason." I rolled my eyes.

"You don't know what it's like Astrid! I've been friends with these people since I was 8, You've only been here for like what? 2 months? And you've already managed to ruin shit."

"I'm losing brain cells having this conversation, I'm gonna go." I turned on my heels to leave but stopped dead when she screamed back at me.

"I know what your hiding you FREAK!" I winced at that, there's no way she knows anything. I never used any powers in front of them, how could she possibly know.

"You're a depressed insecure lunatic, drug addict!" She screamed at my turned back. as soon as she walked past me to leave. I literally sighed in relief, for some reason, being called all that was so much better than someone finding out about me.

It was really strange days ago she was in my bedroom, acting like my best friend and now... this? She's probably just hurt and not thinking properly, no way just anyone would be that mad over a situation like this. Yea, that's most likely it. After waiting a few minutes to make sure she still wasn't in the hall, I head back towards the cafeteria. When I walked in all eyes were on me but everyone quickly looked down. I saw Grace at the table, literally SOBBING into Collins' shoulder. I rolled my eyes and walked to the back where MJ sat, back towards the door.

"What was that all about, everyone heard her screaming from down the hall." MJ said not looking up from her sketchbook.

"You're kidding..really?" I dropped my head to the table and groaned.

"Yep, so you wanna tell me what happened?"

"You don't believe it, do you? I mean what Grace said, it's not true." I assured.

"Of course not, the girl had murder in her eyes!" she finally looked up.

"It was just some stupid fight, I'm sure she'll get over it soon. I hope." I bit my lip. I didn't want to tell her the fight was about Graces jealousy fueled by me sleeping over at MJ's place.
