"Hmm, you're sure that's what you want it to look like?" Tony asked as he spun the final design hologram in a 360.
I gave it a final look over and nodded my head in confirmation.
"Yep, I'm sure." I decided. It was the next day, the day Tony was leaving to head back to Malibu. We were in the workshop where I was showing him the new changes Milo and I had made to the suit. The design would be sent to him where he could work on, and make the physical suit in his own workshop back in Malibu.
"The next time I'm back here it should be done." he said as he began to shut down the application.
"Sounds good, but when will you come back?" I asked.
"A couple weeks? I don't know, but when I do, maybe I can get the boss to come along." He suggests, referring to Pepper.
"That would be nice." I said as we began towards the exit.
"You ready to start training tomorrow?" Steve asked. We had all been rounded up to say goodbye to Tony.
"Yea, I've had a long enough break." I agreed as we walked towards the front of the facility
"Oh thank god." Wanda exaggerated.
"Don't work her too hard Rogers," Tony said, rolling down the windows.
"I'll try. Wouldn't want to scare her away, after all, we've only just got her back." Steve said, patting my back.
"Say hi to Pepper for us!" I yelled when the car began to roll away.
When Tony had gone, everyone dispersed and went back to doing their own thing. I would have hung out with the others, but I was already missing the company of someone my age. With that, I went on a hunt to find Milo. I went up to the logistics division, right on cue, a line of agents in matching attire walked into the lobby, including Milo. He flashed a bright smile and left the group to come over to me, I noticed the other recruits roll their eyes at him but when they saw me glaring just as hard, their stares turned into embarrassed nods.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned, joining me by my place at the entrance to the division.
"I live here." I simply say.
"You live in the logistics division? Weird." He says seriously.
"Ok, fine. I came to find you, let's do something." I admit.
"Well well well, looks like the tables have turned." He smirked.
"Don't get cocky Davis." I bit my lip and shoved his arm lightly.
"Now as much as I'd like to do something fun, I should probably go do something useful." He says.
"Okay, that's fine. I'll see you later then?" I begin backing away.
"Yea, see you." He waves as I turn around to go back to the living space, maybe find Wanda or something... I began to think of other options to use my free time up when Milos' voice interrupted my thoughts.
"I was joking, you think I'd pass up a chance to get away from this agent crap?!" He says, joining me.
"Yea, that's what I thought. Soo, what do you want to do?" I ask.
"Can you leave this place?" He said, allowing his eyes to wander around the facility.
"I am 99% sure that's not an option."
"Why do they have you on such a tight leash?" He asks scrunching up his face.
"I guess they're just worried." I shrug.
"About what? You're going to be an Avenger, I think at this point you're able to take care of yourself."
"I don't know Milo. Let's just play cards or something."
"Cards?" He tilts his head in confusion,
"Yea, I know a ton of games we could play." I grab his sleeve and lead him in the direction of the living space.
"This is going to be... interesting." He says, complying, allowing me to lead the way.
"You're so cheating," He glares as I won yet another game.
"You can't even cheat in speed," I smirk, sliding him the large deck of cards he was forced to take as the penalty for losing.
Surprisingly, I had fun hanging out with Milo, teaching him games like speed and war. We had to keep the door open as ordered by Steve regardless of the fact that there would be absolutely no way in hell Milo and I would ever mess around behind a closed door anyway.
"I'm done, I'm over it." He sighs throwing down his cards and standing up.
"Aww, don't be a sore loser." I make an exaggerated sad face and begin to pick up the cards.
"Am not."
We said goodbye when 9 pm rolled around and we both decided it would be the smart choice to head to bed as we both know had to wake up at the crack of dawn for training.
When I went back up to my room, I was surprised to see Wanda and Nat making themselves at home.
"What's going on?" I asked confused.
"That girls night you promised us is way overdue." Said Wanda.
"Tonight? B-but I have training in the morning!" I exclaim.
"So do we. Now have a seat." Nat said, motioning me to come over. I sighed and trudged over to them where I threw myself down onto the sofa in my room.
Turns out they just wanted to grill me on my non-existent 'love life'. I didn't have much to say about that topic as my life was pretty void of any of that stuff. They asked question after question, even bringing up the boy I had gone to the movies with back at Midtown, AND Milo. I finally had enough and gave them the offer of either shutting up and watching a movie, or getting out of my room altogether. They chose the first option so, with a sigh, I turned on Netflix and played a movie called 'Coraline' I had been wanting to watch. They fell asleep in the first 30 minutes but I, being so invested in the movie, stayed up till the end. At 1 am, I finally turned off the TV and curled up in bed next to Wanda and Nat. Regardless of the terrifying movie I had just watched, sleep came easy tonight, probably due to the fact I was surrounded by people I considered my family.
