Literally just a filler chapter.
Later
"Hey Tasha." I greeted as I answered the phone.
"Wanda told me about you and the boy." I could practically hear the smirk in her voice.
"Not you too!" I groaned.
"Hey! I already feel betrayed that you didn't tell me first." She exclaimed.
"It's not important anyways." I snorted
"Well, it's improvement. It shows you're getting used to being a teenager, you know doing regular teenage things. Going out for dates and doing homework." She replied matter of factly.
"Did you forget I'm literally stalking people? I'm on a mission Nat." I laughed.
"God your so difficult." She groaned.
We talked for a while longer while I completed my homework but eventually, I had to say goodnight for dinner.
The next day.
"Do you think if poison is past its expiration date, it becomes more poisonous or is it no longer poisonous?" MJ Pointed a carrot at us.
"Hmmm, I'd sign up to test that theory." I lowered my book and tilted my head in thought.
"I too crave the sweet release of death." She commented. I raised my hand for a high five. Peter and Ned gave us a weird look.
We were sitting at lunch and I don't know how but the conversation lead to us sharing our inner thoughts.
"Getting drunk is just borrowing happiness from the next day..." Ned philosophized.
"And turning up the volume is like zooming in on sound..." I added.
"The phrase 'i'm dead' is always a lie." Peter joined.
"Okay, okay I've had enough questioning my existence for one day." MJ groaned.
Later that day.
"How'd you do?" Peter asked as I gathered up my things to go home.
I held up my algebra test which had a bold 100% signed on.
"You?" I nodded at him.
"You did better by 3%." He showed my his own test. I gave him a lopsided grin and put away my stuff.
"Here." Peter held out a headphone for me which I accepted. We were walking home from school instead of taking the subway. The weather was nice, the streets were dusted in light snow and the sun was out, warming our frostbitten faces.
I pulled my beanie down over my ears again and put my hands in my pocket.
"Okay, I have one. What or who would you sacrifice your life for?" He asked. We were now deep in a game of 21 questions.
"Mmm, to be honest, id probably sacrifice my life for like.. innocent people you know?" I explained.
"I don't mind death." I shrugged. He looked at me in worry causing me to laugh.
"I'm not suicidal or anything don't worry, I'm just not afraid of dying I guess. I think I've just come to terms with it by now. Everyone dies." It probably would've been better if I just kept my mouth shut by the way Peter was looking at me.
"Stop looking at me like that, it's worrying," I tore my eyes away from his and instead focused on my converse clad feet, probably not the best shoes for walking through snow.
