The next morning.
I groaned as I sat up from the bed, my whole body ached. It took me a minute to regain my ability to walk like a human. I changed into blue jeans and a large t-shirt that said 'Stark industries' on it. After lots of persistence from Tony, I started to wear the clothes provided for me in the closet. It was 1o am, I slept in later than usual which was unfortunate because it was my last day here.
I had lots to do today, pack, talk to Tony about what was wrong with me, he still hadn't gotten back to me on the whole 'body glowing, Asgardian royalty' issue and it would not get off my mind. He also hadn't told me anything about who I was going to live with. Id managed to push the whole 'seer' thing to the back of my mind. I also had to say goodbye to everyone, I didn't even know if they were all still here. So much had happened in the few weeks I'd been here it scared me, I discovered so many new things and I had so many questions. If things kept moving at this pace, the world would end in a snap.
I hated being in the dark about what was happening, so with that in mind, I set off to find Tony. I wandered to his room and knocked. No one opened the door and I realized he must have gone out or was in the lab. I decided to go eat breakfast and then continue my search. When I finished my bowl of cereal I cleaned up and ventured upstairs. I found Tony flipping through what looked like an ancient book.
"Tony, what's wrong with me?" I asked. He put down the book and looked up.
"Nothing, nothing is wrong with you kid," he replied.
"You know what I mean! What did you mean when you said 'Royal Asgardian' that night..." I looked away remembering the night.
"Oh... You might wanna have a seat for this, it could take a while."
I sat across from him at the small table.
"The truth is, you're from Asgard, when Thor touched you, you glowed golden because you both have the same royal blood running through you..."
"Haha, okay. Seriously though, what's going on?" I leaned back in the chair, crossing my arms over my chest.
"I know its a shock, but just hear me out. Its true." he replied.
"Tony, that's not even relatively possible... I've been on earth my whole life! And how could I possibly be related to Thor?!" I countered.
"Well, you've been on Earth as far as you can remember... you were found as a baby in the middle of nowhere in Europe." He explained.
"So how could a baby get to earth from Asgard..." I said deep in thought.
"Here's the part where it gets complicated. Point Break went back to Asgard to confront Odin about who you were and got him to admit he had a daughter... " He gave me a moment to process what he just said.
"So I'm, Thor's SISTER!?" I screamed.
"No, you're his niece. Odin had some evil daughter who tried to overthrow him so he kicked her to hell... and I thought I had daddy issues." He said to himself.
"This has to be a joke. No way is this real. This CAN'T be real." I stood up and began to pace the room.
"You were born in Hell, but apparently you got kicked out and were taken to Odin. He banished you to Earth because he was too paranoid you'd turn out like his daughter." he continued.
"What the actual hell. You're joking right?"
"I wish. Thor took the blood we sampled and you share DNA."
"I sympathize with you, even more, this is way past what you should have to deal with..." I sighed.
"Astrid, what I said that night wasn't true, I was confused and wasn't thinking. When I did think about it I realized I.. uh, actually like having you around. The towers more full with you here, everyone sticks around a while longer." he admitted.
"Wow, this is new. Tony Stark likes having a 14-year-old girl running around the avenger's tower." I said amused.
"Hush before you make me regret it... nope too late I already do." he groaned.
I just laughed before the light mood was quickly gone when I remembered the situation we were in.
"Where is Thor?" I asked.
"He's gone, he won't be back for a while, dealing with some stuff in Asgard."
Great. My request for answers just resulted in more unanswered questions and Thor isn't even here so I can't ask him either... I had a lot of time to think about my biological parents, but never in a million years would I think it would be some princess from another planet.
This is nuts. Absolutely nuts.
"What about my 'visions'?" I asked after a minute.
"We still don't know what they mean, we haven't had a lot of time to investigate with what we found about you being linked to Asgard but that's next."
"You haven't even started studying my powers, which is why I'm here..." I reminded him.
"How many times do I have to tell you. You're not an experiment." He groaned.
When I didn't reply he continued.
"Don't think too much about all this. We're putting everything on hold so we can relocate you and send you to school. We'll search for answers without you and when we find something we'll think about bringing you back here." He explained.
"How can you look for answers about me without me here!"
"You really doubt me that much?" he said picking the book back up.
"Ok, then tell me about where I'm going," I said sitting back down.
"You're staying with, friends... Rosa and Lorenzo, they're old so take it easy on them. They live in an apartment in Queens a few minutes away from your school. I know you'll like it there, they have cats, I heard you talking to Banner about how you've always wanted to have a pet. I trust them, I've known them since I was a kid so don't be nervous." He said.
"I'm not nervous." I lied, he just gave me a look.
"You should go pack, we don't know how long you'll stay there so take everything to be safe. Do you want help?" he offered.
"No, I'll manage," I said as I exited the room.
