At the emergence ward, the patient was brought in and the doctor was treating or rather fretting on his body, all his frustration and vexation.   The doctor would have been happily snuggled in his bed, enjoying his passionate night with his wife, but there at that moment, he was called on duty.

Seeing the patient, first, he thought that his work would be over within minutes, given the fact that the  patient was almost, " then a dead body".  He  was about to brush off this case as " brought dead",  but then he heard a faint sound, very faint sound of  heartbeat, not regularly, just occasional beat, it is as if the heart was making its presence known to him.

The disgust at seeing his wounds filled with hovering flies, mosquitoes and maggots, was too much for him to bear.  However, he was a man of conscious and he set to his task of cleaning the wound with antiseptic and  checking  the patient for his present condition.

A team of two nurses and  specialist doctor was called upon.  A series of tests, x-rays, MRI Scan were done to assess the situation of the patient's  condition.  A broken part of the forehead was bandaged,  the fractured legs were put in cast along with the hand, and then the most difficult part came by.

It seemed that the patient had a thing clutched in his fist.  It was stained in blood.   It became very difficult to free the 'thing' from his grasp.   After lot of hassle with forceps, 'the thing' was  removed or rather separated from his fist.  It was a 'gear'.  A symbol of engineering faculty unity and strength.

As soon as the ' gear' was separated and kept nearby him, the patient's BP began to fall down, it is as if the patient would die any moment.  Frantic efforts were carried out to  save him, but it was like the patient had given up.   Altercation that followed in handling him,  the patient's hand accidentally  touched the gear, and the immediate counter reaction was the shooting of the BP to the normal.

The said doctor felt as if the patient  was hinting him about the 'gear' and his road to recovery.  He felt as if he heard a voiced called out to him,' Doctor, do not separate me from my Arthit's gear, I will die without him.    Let me live at least with his gear', the mind cried out to the doctor and it was happy that the doctor felt immediate connection with Kongpob.

*******

I wonder whether I should continue with the story, cos it is going to be full of angst, not happy scenes, no lovey dovey moments.
