Waiting for Luke, it's scary. I don't know what to expect out of this but I have in mind the things I'd like to say. I want to talk about insomnia. The illness thats in both of us. Yet somehow I slept the best I have in years with him last night.

"Luke." I offer him a smile and reach up. His hand laces with mine and we're joined together. As we get closer we get more touchy and I think it's comforting. "How was practice."

"It was alright. How long you even waiting here?" He bites his lip right and looks over my head. We were a good eight inches apart in height and it was an even distance.

"Since school got out." I sigh. "I've just been thinking..."

"Thinking?"

"About everything. Us, the world, insomnia, school. How were your exams?" I question. To be honest I don't know if I did good on mine and it stressed me a bit.

Luke looks worried for me. That's the last thing I want. I want him to be happy. I want him to be okay. Worrying about me shouldn't even be on the agenda."They were alright Summer. Let's talk okay. You want this, let's do it."

"When did you know." I rub my thumb up and down against his hand. His skin smooth.

He gulps and looks over my head once again. Luke does this when he's nervous it seems. "My dad died not to long ago. That's when it started."

"Oh." I can't find words, I know what it's like to loose someone and you don't want to hear sorry. "Ive been through that."

"You're dad died?" He grabs my other hand and were facing one another, sitting cross cross on this dumb electric box.

I shake my head. "Brother."

"Is that how it started for you?"

"No. I think it started a few months later, my parents build houses in real estate and travel constantly. Not feeling safe made sleep hard." I run a hand through my hair. It's greasy and crisp. I think about letting the brown grow out before returning my eyes to Luke's. Their so pretty. A soft blue.

"So you're in that big house alone?" His questions are hitting all the right places. It's funny because I was the one that wanted this conversation.

"No, I have a nanny that checks in every now and then." I shrug. "So when you can't sleep you just... come here? Walk around?"

"Yeah, or I'll play my guitar and watch old Family Guy." He lets go of his lip and rubs his tongue across it.

"Can I say something, it might sound a bit weird."

"Can't get much weirder then it's already gotten."

"Last night was the first night I've slept a full six hours. Luke that's incredible, and either we need to have more sleepovers or it was the alcohol." I ramble. Letting go of his hand, I tuck my hair behind my ears.

Luke smiles at me and nods. "Thought It was just me." We laugh softly staring at each other.

"Want to spend the night Luke?"

"Of course honey. Let me just run home so I can handle some things and I'll text you when I'm on my way over, alright?"

"Yeah." I can't seem to stop smiling. "Thank you." We hug, and he presses his lips softly against my forehead before we part ways.
