When we got back to the hotel room, I turned my phone on airplane mode so I wouldn't be disturbed. Then I put my head phones in and climbed into the bed; facing the wall. I didn't want to have to be interrogated by my mother tonight. I just needed to sleep it off, that way I can think properly about it tomorrow. I have no idea what I am going to do, but I knew I had to make a decision. I could either pick one of the boys, or not pick one. After all I was on vacation, and when I go home I'll most likely never see or talk to Brady again. "Except he has your number" my subconscious telling me what I had forgotten. "Dang that's right." I say back to it. Wait what? I'm answering myself now. I decide to turn my music up, close my mind and try to fall asleep. Sooner than later I feel slumber take over.
*The Next Morning*
I woke confused, then I remembered where I was. Then remembering the events that had happened last night. "uurrgghhm" I groan into my pillow. I did not want today to happen. I knew a decision had to be made, but I didn't want to have to make it. "You know what, I need help. I need advice from my friend Camy." I think to myself. Camy was in my ward, but we didn't really get to know each other until this last school year. Although she's almost three years younger than me, it didn't matter. She was one of my best friends, and the only one who stuck with me when times got hard. She could give me a different insight than I had on this situation. I decided to text her, not wanting my mom to hear my side of the conversation if I called her. Turning my phone off of airplane mode I got bombarded with notifications. There were some from Instagram and Twitter. The usual. But I also had a few text messages. "That's weird" I think to myself. "No one texts me. I'll look at them after I text Camy."
Me: HEY! I NEED YOU.
Talking in all caps seemed to be are thing. She replied shorty after, like I knew she would.
Camy: What can I do for you today?
Me: Well, okay idk where to start. I met this boy at the beach yesterday, and we hung out for awhile until we went to meet up with some of his friends. Guess who was there... Yeah, Ammon. Ammon Tuimaualuga.
I proceeded to create this long text explaining the whole situation with Ammon, and our meeting at his school. I didn't leave out any details, that way she could help me make an accurate choice. Her next reply took longer, but I did send her a novel.
Camy: Wow what a vacation. I say you flip a coin. Heads you go with Ammon, tails with Brady.
Camy: I'm just kidding! But really, you could do that. Because when the coin is in the air, you'll have a slight hope for it to land on a specific side, thus Your Prince. ;)
She did have a valid point. But I just don't think I could do it that way. There's too much involved with my emotions to let a piece of metal decide.
Me: You have a valid point.. But me being the over thinker that I am, I'm going to think about this more. I have all week to make a decision. I want to make sure that I make the right one. You know, because this will totally affect my entire life. ;)
Camy: Riiight. You go ahead and do that thinking thing you always do. But you never know, this may affect you ;)
Camy: btw that rhymed, if ya didn't see :P
I say bye to her and got ready to go. My sisters started their soccer games today, so that would give me plenty of alone time to think of the right choice. Looking through my notifications, I decide to check my texts first. There was one from a California number. Remembering I had given my number to Brady, I was right. He had text me last night. I smiled as I opened it, the first few words making me blush.
Brady: Hey there beautiful. I just wanted to make sure you made it home alright. Did everything go okay with Ammon? I don't know why he was staring at you like that constantly. I'm sorry if it creeped you out.
Brady: You must have already been asleep or something. Well text me tomorrow. Oh, and don't forget to ask if you can come hang out with me and the guys tomorrow, we'll be at the same spot. Good Night :)
Brady: Good Morning Sunshine :)
"Awe he's adorable. Checking up on me last night. Good night and good morning texts. He's a sweet guy." I say to myself as I save his number in my phone. I quickly text him a reply, thanking him and apologizing for not replying until now. I mentioned my sisters having a soccer game so it would have to be after that. His reply was shorter. Leaving me with "Okay, sounds good". How did that happen? One moment he was adorable then next minute selling me short? Oh well, I decide to just ignore it and not text him back. If he wants to carry on a conversation he would.
I go to my Twitter notifications, there being a few more than normal. To my surprise, most of them were from Ammon. "What is going on.." I say out loud. "What was that honey?" my mom said. Oh right, I'm not in the safe confinement of my room. "N-nothing mom" I stutter out "my phone is just being weird." That was close. Looking through my notifications I realized that Ammon followed me and then proceeded to favorite tweets left and right. Normally my fan-girl self would have freaked out from one favorite, and then even more for the follow. But since I know the reason behind it all its just not the same.
I move on to Instagram, where there are only a few notification. One being Ammon following me (Yippee) and that I have a new DM. The rest were from girls in the fanmily just liking my pictures. I was hesitant before clicking on the DM. Just like I thought it was from Ammon. I opened it and read what it said, dropping my phone in my lap.
@ammontui12: Hey Tammy? Will you text me. That way we can talk...
This boy always left me speechless. The way that I just walked off, I sort of thought maybe I'd make him upset and he wouldn't talk to me for a couple of days. I guess I was wrong. I didn't know what to say back, so I closed it and figured I'd spend a little time thinking of what to reply.
We got in the car to go to the game, and I checked my phone. There was another DM notification. Looking at it, I guess Ammon really wanted to talk.
@ammontui12: Hey.. I know I messed up but I really just want to talk and get to know you. You said you forgave me, but why did you run off like that? Please answer me.. :(
Well shoot. I forgot that Instagram tells the person that the message had been read. And he put a frowny face. I'm in trouble. I replied giving him my number and that he should text me and I would explain. "Was I really going to explain? Or would that only make things more awkward and difficult." These questions swam through my mind. I don't know what I'm going to do. Suddenly my phone buzzed.
Hey Tammy. It's Ammon. Are you free to talk?
Me: Yeah I am, but I'll call you in a few minutes, when I'm not in the car with my family.
Ammon: Okay :) No problem at all!
Gosh dang it. Even his text message smiley faces are adorable. The "short" five minutes to the field seemed like an eternity. Finally we got there and made our way to the field. I told my mom that I had a phone call to make and I'd be right back. Waving me off, I ran to the most isolated area of the facility, and dialed Ammons number. He picked up on the first ring.
Ammon: Hello? Tammy?
He sounded relieved.
Me: Hey yeah, its me. Look, I've got to tell you something.
