Chapter 21~ Galaxy full of Confusion

There was a knock on the bathroom door, bringing me back to reality.  I had been so lost in my nightmare I hadn't even noticed the water had turned cold. "Tammy? You okay? You've been in there for a long time." I hear my mom ask. Turning the water off I reply back that I was done and getting out. I sat in my towel on the toilet; not wanted to get dressed yet. "I need go do something." I finally decided. "That way I can forget about my nightmare last night." I wasn't completely sure what it meant, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to piece it together either.

Walking out of the bathroom, I was immediately stopped by my mom. "What happened? I could hear you crying in there." she asked. "Oh, erm, I uh had a night mare last night and I couldn't stop thinking about it, I don't know what it was about." I said to her, knowing her next question. "Okay sweetie. Well if you need to talk about anything let me know." "Okay" I mumbled out. Even though she has told me that a million times before I never feel like it's sincere. "Oh and another thing; you can hang out with your new friends today, but we've got plans tonight." she said, leaving me there by myself.

I quickly changed into some shorts and pulled my sweatshirt over my head, feeling lazy. I brushed through my wet hair mindlessly, going over every detail trying to figure what it meant. Once again it had to do with Ammon and Brady. "Maybe this dream is supposed to be telling me something, just like the last dream I had. I shook my head. "Just forget about it. If it comes true you'll realize then. No point to worry about it. All the stress makes a mess and it really doesn't change a thing" I thought to myself. I finish getting ready and head out to the main part of the hotel room. My family was already eating breakfast, so I grabbed my phone and put my head phones in, and walked to the lobby. Looking at my phone I noticed that I had gotten a text during night. Opening it, I see it's from Ammon. My heart leaped as I read the text.

Ammon: Hey..Thanks for coming tonight. I had a lot of fun:)  I just wanted to tell you that um me and Brady talked it over and everything is cool between us.. But I think that we need to talk...

"Why would we need to talk?" I say to myself as I'm waiting for my bagel to pop out of the toaster. I was beyond confused, and to be honest a little frustrated. How could they just act like that? I have no idea what I'm supposed to do since they are "cool". I decided not to reply back to him just yet, and stayed in the lobby to eat. I wasn't in the mood to deal with my family.

Just then my phone buzzed, making it move on the table. "Ugh what do they want now" I say out loud, picking up my phone. The only other people in the lobby were a couple. They glanced my way then whispered to each other. Rolling my eyes at them I look at my phone. I had received a text, but it wasn't who I thought it was. It was an unknown California number.

XXX-xxx-xxxx: Hey Tammy it's Nick. I was wondering if you wanted to come hang out and maybe go to a movie with Angela and I. Steve will be there too, but I don't want you to think I'm asking you on a double date with him. So just let me know :)

I saved his number and headed back to the room to ask my parents if I could go. They said yes, but I had to be back before 4 o'clock. I quickly text Nick back saying yes, and asking who Angela was. I remember he mentioned her once before, "she's probably his girl friend." I think, answering my own question. He replies quick confirming my thoughts and telling me the time and location. It was almost 10:30 now, and Nick said the movie didn't start until 12:15. I decided to change my outfit, figuring I should probably look decent and not like I lived on the streets.

After I changed, I didn't want to hang out in the room with my arguing siblings, so I left. Figuring that gave me some time to myself, I drove and found a park near the movie theatre. Sitting in my car I pulled out my phone. Reading over  the text from Ammon again, I send a simple reply back, agreeing that I wanted to talk. I put my phone into my bag and got out of the car. Today was a perfect day, sunny with a slight breeze coming off of the ocean. I found a spot of shade under a tree and sat down, getting out my sketch book. I had an hour before I needed to meet them for the movie, just enough time to get a quick drawing down.

I was interrupted when a Frisbee landed near me, scattering my colored pencils. "Wow where have I seen this before" I say to myself while collecting my things. Just as planned a boy came over and grabbed the Frisbee, but didn't even say sorry. "Don't mind the mess you just made" I call out after him, a little irritated now. Taking a look at my drawing I decided I needed a break. I checked the time, was 12 o'clock. I finished picking up my pencils and sketch book and put it in my bag, heading over to the theatre.

"Perfect Timing!" I hear as I walked in the door, making me turn my head. I knew who it was but before I saw him I was engulfed in a hug. "Hi Nick" I said hugging back. Suddenly I felt extremely awkward as a girl- Angela- I supposed walked up to us. Letting go of  Nick I took a step back, only to pulled back into his arms. "I wasn't done yet missy" he said laughing. Glancing over his shoulder at Angela, she just gives me a sympathetic smile. "Okay this weird" I thought, then Nick pulls away. "She doesn't seem bothered by him hugging me so long. I wonder if they know something I don't" I think. "Oh, by the way this is Angela. Angela this is Tammy" We both say hi to each other, and head over to the concessions stand.

As we were standing in line Steve joined us. "Hey Star Fish!" I heard him yell. Turning to say hi back to him he hugs me roughly. "Gosh these people like to hug" I think, just wishing he would let go of me. "I don't know why but he has never grown on me" I think as I look up and give him a fake smile. We buy our snacks and go to the ticket booth. Realizing I hadn't bought a ticket yet, and that I dont even know what movie we're going to see, I stopped. Angela must have noticed and figured out what I did because she walked over and linked her arm in mine. "It's okay, Nick bought tickets already" she said sweetly. "Dang she is just like Nick. Genuinely nice and looks like a model. They're perfect for each other" I think smiling back at her. "You're flawless" I blurt out before covering my mouth with my hands.  "I- I mean.." I stutter out turning bright red. She giggles "Thank you, you are so sweet. But I would be lying if I said that was true. I'm no where close to flawless" "Wow she's humble to!" I think, but she continues. "You are absolutely beautiful, and you have the most stunning eyes. Brady was completely right about everything." "Brady?" I question her. "Yeah, he's my twin brother" "You're b-brother?" I stuttered again, exposing my nervousness.

By this time we had arrived to our seats. I sat in between Nick and Steve, leaning more towards Nick. "You know that's his girlfriend" Steve said leaning almost on top of me. "Yes I am aware" I said back. "She's Brady's sister. You know, the one you went behind Ammons back and kissed?" What? "What did you just say" I asked sharply. "You heard what I said. But yeah. they're twins and like tell each other everything." "Hmm. But did Ammon tell you I went behind his back?" I said bring back the previous topic. "Nah, I figured it out myself. I may seem stupid but I'm not. I know more than you think star fish. Just be careful, I don't want you to hurt my best friend." Just then the lights dimmed, signaling the movie was about to start. "Which one is his best friend that he doesn't want me to hurt?" I think to myself.  "I don't know but I really need to talk to Ammon or Brady and sort things out. Remembering that Nick had said Brady was coming with other friends, I turned and asked Nick if Brady's plans had changed. "No, they're going to meet us after the movie" he replied. I nodded and sat back to watch the movie. We were watching Guardian's of the Galaxy, a topic I wasn't to interested in but better than doing nothing. "This is going to be a long movie" I said to my self as my mind filled with thoughts of Brady and Ammon.
