I tossed and turned all night, something didn't feel right. I sat up in my bed going over the events of the day. "I didn't leave anything unfinished" I said to myself, thinking maybe my OCD mind was having a panic attack. That wasn't it. I replayed the day up until I went to hang out with my girl friend Sarah at the park. We were meeting the new kid at school, Nick; Sarah wanted to hook him up with her best friend Angela. I didn't think it would work out, Angela's twin brother Brady is to protective over her. They seemed to get a long, however. "Nothing weird happened at the park" I said out loud, trying to calm my senses. That's when I remembered who showed up as we were leaving.

I jolted up, smacking my face on the seat in front of me. "Whoa dude, you okay? You're all.. sweaty and breathing heavy" Tanner said, poking my neck and examining me closely. I looked around and realized where I was. I was with my band, not back in my bed. We were headed to the airport. That was just a nightmare. "Ammon..." he said again, waving his hand in front of my face. I snapped back to reality. "Hey. Sorry I was just uh, having a nightmare I guess. I dunno." I said wiping my forehead. He was right, I was sweating a lot. "You've been asleep for like 20 minutes is all though.." Tanner said looking at my with a puzzling look. "Just leave him alone Tanner. He's got a lot on his mind" Patch called from the drivers seat, looking at me through the rear view mirror. I make eye contact with him and give him a nod. "Yeah it was more of a memory anyway." I trailed off, leaning my head back against the window. "A dark memory from my past that won't leave me alone."

After going through security and bagging and all the fun stuff you do at an airport, our flight was delayed for at least an hour. I looked at my watch. The flight was supposed to leave at midnight. With it being delayed I doubt that they would still leave at a random time in the middle of the night. "Ugh what else could go wrong today!" I shouted, throwing my backpack on the ground, making all the near by occupants turn to stare at me. Frustrated, I pulled out my phone.

Looking at the picture of Tammy that I had set as my screen lock, I felt all warm inside. No one had made me feel this way since Sarah. I smiled as I remember the moment I took the picture at the ShnowCone Shack the first time we "hung out", and how she had no idea. She was leaning back laughing, her hair flowing behind her. She looks so happy and perfect. "She was probably laughing at something Brady said" my inner voice chimed in, ruining the moment. I sighed and put my phone away just as Patch walked over.

"You want to talk about anything?" Patch said as he joined me on the bench I was at. "Like the nightmare you had.. or, um if not its okay. Talking about things just seems to help." he added nervously, running his hands through his hair. "Actually, yeah, can I vent erm,or uh talk to you for a bit?" I asked standing up. He nodded and followed me over to the most secluded area of the airport. I took a deep breath. "It wasn't exactly a night mare as much as it was a memory from my past." I said, turning so I was sitting straight. Tears threatened to come as the images passed through my mind. "It was a couple years ago, soon after I turned 16. I was dating this girl named Sarah, and I know we were only 16 but she was the love of my life..."
