Chapter 27- Fasten Your Seatbelt

"I get the window seat!" "No I get it! You got it last time!" TJ and Tanner were fighting over who got the window seat like they do every time. Zac quickly took his window seat and put his headphones in, so they wouldn't try to bother him for it. I filed in and took my seat next to the window, Patch sitting beside me. "Okay now finish the story, and maybe we can figure something out to help you." I sighed. "Might as well" I thought. I took a deep breath and continued where I left off, Patch listening with great intent.

We left the park and we to the pizza shop. Ordering a couple of large pepperoni pizza's we sat down and waited. "I wonder why David and them would drink." Brady said, saying out loud what we were all thinking. "Yeah.. Or where they even got it from" Sarah added. We were silent until our food arrived.

Devouring the pizzas in record time we hung out and laughed like earlier hadn't happened. We stayed there all night and ordered root beer floats . Soon it was closing time, which meant time to go home as well. I dont have my own car so Sarah drove me home with Steve in the back. Brady drove the others home. We parted ways and the drive to Steves house was dead silent.

"Finally the awkwardness is gone" I said as we drove away from Steves house. "It wasnt that awkward Ammon." Sarah said winking at me. "Gosh I love her" I think. "What did you say?" she says with a shocked expression. "Did i say that out loud?" I asked, her expression mirroring on my face. "Um, yeah you did." she said focusing on the road, I can see a blush creep across her cheek. "I, uh, um, well..." I stuttered running my hand through my hair. The car was silent again the rest of the way to my house.

Pulling into my driveway I turned and looked at her. "I said I love you, well I mean I thought I was thinking it but apparently not.." I said sheepishly. "Apparently..." was her only reply. After a few seconds I opened the car door, unsure of what her reaction meant. We hadnt really ever said that to each other in the time we had been dating. of course we said it as friends before then, but now it was different. I looked at her one more time, saying thanks and I had a nice time and such. She smiled back and agreed. I leanded across and gave her an awkward one arm hug and a kiss on the cheek. As I closed the door I swear I heard her whisper those three words back.

"Okay okay, when do we get to the upsetting part? Right now all we've got is mushy gushy lovey dovey." Tanner said, interuppting my story. I was unaware that the he and TJ had been listening in. "Stop being inconsiderate. He obviously is getting there. He just wants to make us jealous first." TJ said with a smirk. "You guys. Seriously stop. If you're going to act like this then you can stop listening and mind your own business." Patch added, making the two be quiet. "Thanks" I muttered.

Just as I was about to continue the "fasten your seatbelt" light came on, telling us that we were going to land. "I'll finish my story when we get to the hotel, okay?" I leaned in and whispered to Patch, that way the other two boys wouldn't hear it. "Okay sounds good." he replies as the airplane begins to descend.
