Chapter 23~ A Phone Call

*Ammon's Point of View*

I was with the boys and we we're just hanging out at Zacs house, since he lives in Clearfield. Patch and Tanner were playing table tennis against Zac. TJ was sitting out since he knew that if he joined, the goal would to make him mess up so then they could fire at him. Finally they forced him to join Zacs team. "I hate this game" I heard him mumble under his breath. I chuckled and looked at my phone. Still Tammy hadn't commented on my post, or even liked it.

"GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND COME PLAY!" Tanner yelled at me, hitting me with a ping pong ball. All off the sudden Zac was grabbing my phone and ran out of the room. "Hey!" I called out as the other three boys ran out with him. I ran up the stairs and they were all huddled around with their arms behind their backs. "Okay give it. Who has it?" I said, looking each of them in the eyes. Zac had a sly smile on then Patch and Tanner had straight poker faces. "Teeeej.. Do you have it?" I said, noticing he was trying to keep a straight face. I tackled him to the ground, reaching for the phone in his hand. Patch grabbed it from him and tossed it to Tanner across the room. "Dear Tammy" he said out loud, pretending to text. "If you do that so help me I swear" I say getting up off of TJ. "Please Tanner. Don't text her. She doesn't want me, she's into Brady more." I said, remembering what I had been trying to escape. I guess the other boys sensed my seriousness because all the joking stopped.

I sat on the couch and the boys came and surrounded me. "Here, sorry bro." Tanner said handing me back my phone. "Yeah I mean we didn't realize that that was an issue." Zac continued. "Maybe texting her would be a good thing though. I mean, showing her she's on your mind, girls love that!"

I give in a just send a simple text saying hi and asking her how's shes doing. Immediately after it sent I was getting a phone call. "It's her!" I gasped, and hit the answer button. "Shoot" I muttered, "Guys lets go, give him some privacy." Patch said.

Me: Hello?

Tammy: Hi...

*awkward pause*

Me: what's up?

Then she started to cry.

Me: Hey shh don't cry, what happened? Did Brady do something to you?

Tammy: Well yes, sort of. I went to the movies with Nick, Angela and Steve. Brady was going to meet us there, but he ended up meeting us after the movie. He had some other people Ammon, and they just gave me the worst feeling.

She sobbed some more before continuing to talk really fast.

Tammy: Then he left with them. He didn't come with us. I just have a bad feeling about them Ammon.

The line went silent, and I took it as my cue to speak.

Me: Were the guys David, Terrence and William?

Knowing the answer was yes, but not wanting to believe it.

Tammy: Yes, how'd you know?

Me: Well, I use to hang out with them too. The five of us were best friends. Then we started doing things that I didn't like, but I just went along with them. Then one thing imparticular happened and I had to stop. I began to hang out with Nick and Steve and things got a lot better in my life. Things were still rough though, until I met you. I've never been this happy for the longest time.

I trailed off. Just thinking about that day and what happened made me shutter. It was something that I was going to regret for the rest of my life, and I knew it the second it happened.

Tammy: W-what happened? What was that one thing?

she asked quietly. I could tell she wanted to know, but was scared of what it was.

Me: Um, maybe I'll tell you another time, I just don't want to talk about it at the moment. I'm sorry Tammy.

"Hey Ammon, uh, we gotta get going bud." Zac's dad came into the room. "The rest of the guys are already in the car". I nodded to him and he left.

Me: Tammy listen, I've got to go now, we're performing tonight.. But I'll talk to you later okay? Please don't be upset anymore. Brady can handle himself. He's a good guy.

Tammy: Okay. Bye Ammon. And um, good luck tonight.

Me: Thanks hun.

I waited for her to hang up. "Tonight was going to be even longer than I had thought now that I know Tammy had met David and the gang." I thought. "I just hope Brady will take care of her". I got up and went and got in the car with the guys.
