Chapter 19~ Love Is A Battle Field

*Ammon's Point of View*

"Hey you two" I called out.

Tammy quickly stood up and moved away from Brady. Just my luck. I once again found Tammy with Brady. Brady stood up and started walking towards me. "How could you kiss her?" he yelled. "You knew I liked her, and you went behind my back and kissed her man! I thought we were best friends!" Getting closer to me I saw a worried look flash across Tammy's face. Brady didn't scare me, however. I knew that he would never hit me. Tammy quickly walked over and tried to get between us, but I stopped her. "Tammy stop. Please just go back to the pavilion. Me and Brady need to talk some things out." I said, looking at her. I knew she knew what I felt, how i had been hurt again. "Please don't fight" she whisper, standing there.

"Hey we aren't going to fight, just please go back to the pavilion?" Brady said, turning her so she was facing him. A tear leaked down her face. "Promise me you're still going to be friends." she said as she ran to the parking lot, my gaze following her. "Oh look, she's running from you again." Brady said. I looked at him, his eyes narrowing. "Isn't it funny how you're the one she runs from, and I'm the one to comfort her? Maybe this time you'll realize Ammon." He was right. The only thing I did to her was hurt her. There was no way we could be together. Looking down, I stifle a sob. Controlling myself, I look up and meet Brady's gaze. "You're right" I said, feeling my heart break in two. "I'll lay off."

"What? Really? You're giving up on her just like that?" Brady said. Now I was confused. He wanted me to fight for her, but didn't want me to. "Seriously?" I asked him. "I thought you wanted me to leave her alone Brady?" He looked as confused as me. "I do want you to leave her alone, but I cant believe you'll just do it like that." I stood there for a minute, thinking of how I wanted to say what I wanted to say.

"I'd rather my heart breaks then hurt her any more."  I say, looking him in the eyes. 

I turned and walked away, deciding that I was going to enjoy my birthday party. Brady walked up behind me, putting his arm around my shoulders. "I'm sorry bro. Why does love always feel like a battle field?" We laughed as we got to the pavilion. I looked around and didn't see Tammy anywhere. Walking over to where Steve and Nick sat, me and Brady asked at the same time, "Have you see Tammy?" Looking at each other afterwards, there was tension but we laughed it off. "Um, I think I saw her walking in the parking lot, want me to go find her?" Nick offered. Brady started to walk, but I held him back. "Yeah, I think it would be better if you went to find her" I said, looking from Brady to Nick. Brady nodded in agreement, and we went to sit down while Nick went to find Tammy.

"I can do this, I can do it for her." I thought to myself. All I want is for her to be happy, whether I'm the reason or not. This was for her.
