I was getting ready for the Historical Ball at Whitmore, the college Caroline and Elena went to. Elena wanted to hang out and she thought it would be a perfect way to catch up. Of course, about her life, not mine.
I dressed in a random medieval queen get up and got ready to go. Stefan and I rode together and I was doing my hair in the car. "Damn it." I said angrily. I couldn't pin the crown on my hair correctly.
"No one will care if you don't wear the crown." Stefan spoke as he drove.
"I'm already devoted to this look." I replied as I stuck the pin in again and let go. It stayed and I smiled. "Haha! Yes." I smiled looking at him. "What are you even supposed to be?" I asked looking at him.
"James Dean." He replied. "Caroline got it for me."
"I'm disappointed. Caroline usually puts more thought into stuff like this." I shook my head.
"I'm glad she didn't." He replied as I shook my head.
"A shame. You would've made a great peasant." I joked as he looked at me.
"I could ruin that crown in seconds. Be careful with your next words." He warned jokingly.
"You wouldn't dare." I replied crossing my arms. "I look too good." I smiled at him. He chuckled lightly and we kept going. It was weird. I had this connection with him and he didn't remember. I felt creepy, but at the same time I really just wanted his company.
We got into the party and we went for drinks. I sipped mine and looked around. "Nice costume." A girl spoke as she passed me.
"Thanks." I smiled back. "See? Worth it." I smiled to Stefan.
"Oh I see. You're one of the girls who needs approval." He commented nodding. I made an O with my mouth and looked at him. "Kidding." He replied with a smile. I shook my head. "There's Caroline." He pointed as I looked and saw Tyler.
"Oh my god." I spoke as I ran over. "Tyler!" I smiled at him and we hugged each other. "It's been too long."
"Where the hell have you been?" He asked as he smiled at me as I backed away.
"It's too long of a sob story trust me. And you? I heard you are being heroic?" I asked curiously.
"Just helping some wolves." He shrugged.
"Humble are we? I don't buy it." I shook my head. "Ugh!" I hugged him again. "Don't ever leave again I'll miss you too much." I squeezed him.
"Chill Emma you're squeezing my organs out of place." He spoke trying to catch his breath.
"Okay okay." I replied. "Dance with me." I instructed as Caroline and Stefan had already started dancing.
We danced and talked about random stuff. He said he was planning on leaving again to get revenge on Klaus. He didn't go into details because he didn't want Caroline to hear. I knew I couldn't stop him but I also knew it was something he needed to handle on his own. I would just get in the way and he would end up getting more hurt.
