About two months had gone by. I still had this weird feeling since the day I almost died again, but I tried to put it in the back of my mind. We had about four leads of witches who could help, and other leads of strange things. All were dead ends though, usually because said witches were dead. We found ourselves in Savannah. Apparently there was a coven of witches dedicated to remembering the dead. When we got there though, they wouldn't even let us in because of what we were. Stefan thought it would be best if we stopped searching for a little while. We had nonstop been going around the country and it was about time for a break.
We ended up finding a foreclosed house and I compelled the realtor to let us have it for now. It was a two bedroom one bathroom and I really liked it.
I called my dad every day. While saying goodbye he said he already knew I would have chosen to help Stefan and he assured me he'd be fine. Jeremy and Elena were grateful to me for trying to find Damon and Bonnie. Jeremy still didn't have much hope though.
Slowly things started to normalize. Before I really noticed we were sort of living a normal life together. Stefan just got a job at an auto repair shop. I was doing art and selling it like I had wanted to for a while.
We sort of..., gave up. Stefan was loosing hope and when he wanted a break I didn't really realize he meant forever. I wasn't really upset about it either. Of course I wanted to help, but the life we were living was a good one. I was happy and I could tell Stefan was slowly getting happier as well.
After working for the day Stefan came back home and I came into the living room to sit with him. He seemed agitated. "Tell me." I sat next to him and put my feet up on the coffee table.
"My boss is a jerk." He started and I smiled.
"What's new?" I asked looking at him.
"If anything goes wrong he blames me because I just started." He looked up angrily. "He doesn't give me a break."
"He's probably mad because you are better at it then he is." I replied looking at him.
"Whatever the case he's annoying." He looked at me and I grabbed his hand.
"Well I say let's drink cheap wine and watch cheesy romance movies until we fall asleep." I smiled to him.
"Another one of those nights?" He asked with a smile. "Sounds like a plan."
In no time Stefan grabbed two glasses and a bottle of wine. We got a quarter through the bottle when we finished the first Princess Diaries and we were about to start the second.
"I don't know if I get the foot pop at the end." He started as he looked at me.
"What could you not get?" I asked confused.
"I mean does that really happen?" He asked.
"Of course not it's a movie. It just represents that she's in love." I shrugged lightly.
"So what's a real foot pop then? Something that you actually do instead of that." He asked as I thought for a moment.
"Well, maybe smiling or..." I thought for a moment. "Gazing into each other's eyes." I looked at him as he nodded.
"Very very cheesy." He replied as I looked at him and chuckled.
"That's the point of cheesy romance night." I replied nudging my arm into his. "Now this one is way better in my opinion." I replied as the movie started.
