When Deya woke up the next morning, Max was long gone. However, as she stood up and shuffled to the bathroom, his words from previous night kept haunting her. What did he expect her to do? Track down the guy who crashed into them three years ago and.. And what? Kill him?

Her stomach flipped once the words popped in her mind. Was she actually capable of something like that? If yesterday proved anything, it's that there are obviously sides of her she didn't know existed. A darkness, that's creeping behind the chocolate orbs and waiting for the right chance to strike and take over. And she was scared of what exactly it would do next.

Hopping into the shower, she hesitated before turning the cold water on. While Max's argument definitely put some things into perspective, it felt too soon to throw the whole plan away. Besides, judging by the yesterday's tantrum, she definitely needed to cool down.

Once washed, she slipped on a pair of black sweatpants and hoodie before heading down for breakfast. A part of her couldn't help but feel afraid to face Max again. Will the yesterday's conversation make things awkward? There was too much she put at stake by opening to him.

However, it turned out that all the worry was for nothing. The devil ignored her entrance completely, and the breakfast passed as usual, with the exception that it was James sitting on her right side. Apparently, he and Dylan switched places and something told her its permanent.

On the other hand, who could really blame him? She did literally try to scratch his eyes out, and for what? A question? Very personal one, indeed, but still just a question.

Suddenly, James's elbow poked her into ribs twice.

James

"Had time to beat up anyone today yet?" He was grinning at her innocently, but it was clear he enormously enjoyed pushing her buttons

"Had time to beat up anyone today yet?" He was grinning at her innocently, but it was clear he enormously enjoyed pushing her buttons.

"Fuck off" The girl growled in response, starring daggers at the lad. This was exactly the last thing she needed today.

"Wow, calm down, Million Dollar Baby" To Deya's dismay, his hearty laugh attracted the attention of other Bulldogs.

"If you ask me, the show you put on in the club was impressive" It was surprising that there wasn't a trace of insincerity in his voice. Is that how they see it? Hurting someone is a show?

"You must have been proud" James grinned at Patrick who just murmured something incomprehensible in response.

"Well, before we get all excited," Max's low voice boomed through the dining room, "Let's see if she's ready to put her skills to use full time."

"W-What do you mean?" Deya's eyes were wide in confusion? Skills? Full-time?

"What I mean," He repeated for emphasis, "Is that your time for slacking off ends now. Gradually, you'll be taking on more missions, and you'll start with advanced training." He was fully back to his old self, and she couldn't help but miss the seemingly carefree lad from yesterday. What has changed?
