Packing proved to be pretty straightforward, considering that majority of the clothes didn't fit her anymore. Wearing the outfit from the party was not an option because it reeked of cigarettes and beer, which left her with two options.

Dressing into her tracksuit, she grabbed the pyjamas she discarded on the floor and stuffed it inside the duffel bag that miraculously appeared in her bedroom while she was eating. Internally, she made a note to thank the maids later. Adding a toothbrush and hairbrush, she was all set to go.

"What about 'few days worth of clothes' did you not understand?" Max hissed in annoyance once he eyed the empty duffel bag, but the girl just shrugged.

"Nothing fits me anymore. Thanks to your training." She made sure to emphasise it is all somehow his fault.

"And you didn't think it was worth mentioning?"

"It's not like we talk that often." She murmured in annoyance, making him run hands aggressively through his perfect hair. Surprisingly, the girl found a small smile creeping its way to her face. Pushing his button was fun.

"You.." He growled with resentment, but didn't finish his sentence as he took out his phone and dialed someone.

"Postpone the flight, something came up." He barked and she felt sorry for the poor soul on the other end. "About an hour. I'll keep you updated."

And then the words sank in. Flight? When he said they're leaving, she wouldn't even think of getting out of the country. What's going on? The whole last-minute departure was suspicious in the very least, and with the talk about flying?

"Move your arse." Max's booming order made her snap out of it and follow him out the main entrance. The whole two months, she dreamt of walking through this doorway. Yet, the circumstances should have been different.

. . .

"Just pick something, I don't care." Max's mood hasn't improved during the car ride to the small boutique they were currently in, and it was getting on the girl's nerves. She always hated shopping, but the devil's presence tripled her suffering.

Ok, you can do it.

One..

Two...

Three..

She sprinted towards the first rack, going through its content in a matter of seconds before moving on to the next one. When something caught her eyes, she stopped long enough to find her size before getting back to work. After five minutes, she returned to wide-eyed Max with armful of articles and victorious smile.

"Let's go." She ordered, making him close his mouth.

"You don't expect me to pay for something you haven't even tried on, do you?" The scepticism in his voice made it clear he was suspicious of her rapid-shopping skills. Nonetheless, he WAS the one paying for it, so she resigned and walked to the fitting rooms.

"Excuse me, it's 3 articles per pers..." The young energetic shop assistant tried to stop her, but seemed to change her mind once her eyes fell on Max.

Is that the privilege of being a mob boss?

"Number 5" She said in honeyed voice while motioning to the back.

For the next 15 minutes, the girl kept changing from one outfit to another, only for each to be criticised by Max. At this point, even the shop assistant was shooting her sympathetic looks.
