Once I made sure that everything was packed into my bag, I slung it lazily over my shoulder, walking down the stairs and out of my small apartment. The small sized apartment was a gift from my parents- I know crazy, who buys their eighteen year old daughter an apartment?

I didn't want to accept the apartment, I wanted to be like a typical eighteen year old and save for my own apartment, so I could look at the apartment and know that I was the one that bought it. My parents though, aren't like most parents.

At the age of seven, I owned two horses, most of my childhood friends owned horses too, except they were toys. At the age of nine, I owned the newest technology that was out, where my friends wouldn't own it. As a child I was always confused on why my friends didn't have the same toys as me, or why their houses were smaller than mine. But as a child you don't know, you only start to realise why when you're older.

I closed my apartment door behind me before locking it and making my way down the small cobbled path that led to my favourite place. As I walked I felt a vibration through my jean pocket. I stopped, digging my hand into my jean pocket, retrieving my old device, known as my phone.

From; Matty:-)
Please hurry, your coffee is going cold. xx

From; Haydes.
I'm on my way. :-) x

I pulled open the small wooden door hearing the familiar chime ringing through the small cafe.
I glanced around the bare cafe before my eyes settled on Matty who was sat in our regular seat near the window.

I made my way over to the table, pulling out the wooden chair and sitting on it. Matty who was transfixed on his new iPhone, only acknowledged my presence after I clicked my fingers in front of his face a couple of times.

Instead of answering me, he held up his index finger, keeping his eyes glued to his phone. I rolled my eyes before sipping on my coffee, without sugar, letting the smooth sweet taste run down my throat.

"Sorry, sorry." Matty said, placing his phone aside gently, as if it was a new born baby. I took my phone out of my jean pocket tossing it on the rounded glass table, which made Matty glare at me. I stuck my tongue out at him, grabbing my cup of coffee again.

"I missed you, you know," Matty said picking up his hot chocolate.

"I missed you too, stop leaving me for Josh." I replied, pouting.

Josh is Matty's boyfriend, they've been together for two years and in those two years, they have both been inseparable, which is difficult on me since Matty is my only friend. I've hung out with them both many of times, and don't get me wrong Josh is lovely guy, but I've been best friends with Matty since five and I guess him being in a relationship, has distanced our friendship a tiny bit.

"I'm sorry Haydes, I'm just so in love with him, I can't even explain how happy he makes me feel." Matty said, breaking out into a big smile.

I smiled back, placing my hand over his and squeezing it gently. "I'm really happy for you Matty, I really am."

Matty picked up my hand, kissing it before dropping it back down on the table, running his thumb over my palm. This was me and Matty. From another persons point of view we probably looked like a couple more than best friends, but me and Matty always had an affectionate friendship.

A beep sounded out of Matty's phone which made him smile, and return his attention to his phone immediately. I sighed, sipping more of my coffee and glancing around the cafe. As I glanced around I noticed that there was more people here than yesterday.

A familiar chime ran through the soft silence of the cafe, which made me turn my attention towards the door of the cafe. As I glanced at the door of the cafe, my eyes met the light baby blue eyes of a boy that I had never seen before.
