"There's nothing going on-" I was suddenly cut off my Michael's hand being placed over my mouth which instantly made me stop talking.
What the fuck was going on?
"I never knew you liked Michael, how long have you liked him?" Luke said, glaring slightly at Michael.
I looked up at Michael who was still smirking. "She's liked me since our first band practise." Michael replied for me, leaning down, kissing me on the cheek.
I noticed Luke was watching every move that Michael was making, his jaw clenched slightly. "Can Hayden not answer for herself?" Luke replied harshly.
Michael placed both of his hands up. "Sorry, was just answering the question."
"I didn't ask the question to you though Michael." Luke said coldly.
"Sorry, what's gotten your pants in a twist all of a sudden?" Michael asked placing his arm loosely around my shoulder again.
"Nothing, let's just get this movie done and over with." He replied, grabbing Amelia's hand, dragging her into the sitting room where Matty and Calum followed leaving me and Michael alone in the kitchen.
As soon as Matty closed the kitchen door, I shrugged Michaels arm off my shoulder turning around to face him.
"What the fuck are you doing Mikey?" I asked, still confused about the whole situation that I was in.
"I wanna play a game," Michael said, crossing his arms and leaning against the kitchen counter top behind him.
"A game?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow unsure of where this was going.
"Yes, a game," he replied a smirk placed on his lips. "I don't know if you noticed Hayden, but Luke got really cold with me after I told him that there was something going on between us. Him being cold with me made me realise something."
"Realise what?" I questioned.
"Luke has feelings for you Hayden."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Look Mikey, honestly saying things like that isn't going to make me feel better, he loves Amelia."
"I think that he thinks he's in love with Amelia. Come on Hayden, he probably thinks that because they've been best friends since whatever age he thinks that he has to be in love with her." Michael pointed out.
"You don't know that Mikey," I replied suddenly wishing that this conversation was over.
"I know, this is where the game comes in," Michael said walking towards me. "We're going to pretend that we're together okay? This will then show us if Luke has feelings for you, because if he sees me all over you, when he might or might not have feelings for you, he's going to become jealous."
"This is a really bad game, Mikey." I replied as he stood in front of me.
"If this is what I have to do to get you and Luke together then I will. I'd much rather Luke being in love with you Hayden then that slug in there."
I shook my head, I knew that this wasn't a good idea. In fact, it was a really bad idea, but the more I thought of it, the more I wanted to be involved in it. I mean, what was I doing wrong?
"There's one rule though," Michael said placing his hand on my arm, running it up and down it, which caused shivers to tingle up and down where his hand was. "We're best friends, and this isn't going to ruin our friendship okay?"
I nodded my head, as Michael dipped his head lower down to my level. "We have to practise being a couple Haydes, we have to make it look real." His warm hot minty breath was warm on my face as his head dipped lower and closer to mine.
I could feel my heartbeat quicken as I could feel myself lean closer to him too. Mikey placed an arm around my waist, roughly pushing my body into his, his lips centimetres away from mine.
My eyes fluttered closed as his lips landed on my cheek, trailing up and down my cheekbone softly, before moving closer to the edge of my mouth, just as his lips kissed the corner of my mouth, the kitchen door opened which made both of us jump back.
"What the fuck?" I heard a familiar voice say behind me which made me turn around slowly coming face to face with Matty.
"Hayden, what the hell is going on?" He asked, looking at Michael and me with a confused expression placed on his face.
I looked at Michael, as he nodded. "Come here, sit down and I'll explain everything." I said, pulling out a chair and explaining the whole situation to Matty about Luke.
"So you guys are pretending to be in a relationship to see if it effects Luke?" Matty questioned still looking confused.
I nodded my head, standing up from the chair, walking over to where Michael was as he wrapped an arm loosely around my waist.
"This is very exciting oh my." Matty said excitedly clapping his hands.
"Promise me you won't say anything to Luke though." I told him, frowning at the thought of Luke finding out what me and Michael had planned.
"Don't worry, your little secret is safe with me." Matty replied smirking at the both of us. "We should go back in and not leave poor Calum a third wheel."
I nodded as Matty walked back into the sitting room. "Game time." I heard Michael whisper in my ear.
Let's just hope this game goes to plan.
