[Mayday Parade- When I Get Home You're So Dead]

My smile dropped instantly as I saw Luke his eyes wide for a second before he placed his eyes on the girl beside him. I frowned at the both of them before realising that I had to take their order since this was my job now.

I cleared my throat deciding to look at the girl instead of Luke.

"How can I help you?" I asked, trying not to sound rude.

"Um, Lukey, what do you want?" The girl asked her brown eyes flickered to me before looking back at Luke.

"I'll order, you go get a seat, yeah?" Luke told her, his eyes on me.

The girl sighed before nodding her head and walking slowly over to an empty table. Once she was situated on a chair, her eyes flickered back over to us.

"I'll have a coffee and a hot chocolate please," Luke said, placing his hand in his pocket to pull out some loose change.

I wrote down his order, sighing and walking over to the counter to prepare the drinks.

"Hayden."

I heard him call me, but I decided to ignore him, after all he was the one that ignored me for the past two days.

"Hayden." I heard him call me again, I sighed before turning around to face him.

"What?" I replied harshly.

"Please don't be like this,"

"What? Seriously Luke you've ignored me for a little over two days. What did you think I was going to be like? That I was going to greet you with a big smile?"

Luke sighed, his hand that was placed on the counter curling into a fist.

"No, I didn't expect you to be happy with me because what I did was a dick move and I'm sorry. I didn't intentionally ignore you, I would never do that, you're my best friend."

"Then why did you ignore me? I left so many messages and calls on your phone, but you never returned any of them. If we were best friends then you wouldn't have ignored me."

"I didn't mean to ignore you, it's a long story, can we meet up later so I can tell you later?"

I looked down at my apron, placing my hand down it to make the crinkles on it disappear.

"I can't," I told him, turning back to make the hot chocolate. "I'm working till late." I replied, placing the hot chocolate on the tray, before moving on to make his coffee. After I was done making his coffee I placed it on the tray, before bringing the tray over to the counter, placing it in front of him.

"Then can't we meet up tomorrow? I'm sorry Haydes, I understand if you're still upset with me, honestly I do."

I placed the total cost of the two beverages into the cash register before looking back at Luke, his deep blue eyes already staring at me. "I'll have to see, I only started this job, so I have to see what times I'm working at."

Luke slowly nodded, before handing me some money, before I told him how much it was. I placed the money into the cash register before grabbing the right amount of change placing it into his palm.

"I don't want us to be like this Hayden."

"Then don't just ignore me." I replied grabbing the cloth and cleaning down the counter again to distract myself from looking at him.

"You can't say anything though Hayden, you ignored me for no reason too."

I sighed feeling a headache come on. "Just leave Luke, go back to your new girl and I'll text you tomorrow if I can meet up with you or not."

Luke nodded slightly before picking up the tray of beverages and bringing them back over to where the girl was sitting.

An hour into service, the café began to become busy as more customers appeared in the shop. I was thankful that it had become busy since Luke and the girl were still here.

As I placed my last order on the tray, my eyes flickered over to where Luke was sitting as I noticed that the girl was crying. I didn't want to be nosey, so I looked back and took down another couples order.

After placing the order on the tray and thanking them my eyes drifted back over to Luke and the girl, noticing that the girl had now stood up and they were both looking at me.

I quickly adverted my eyes away from them both, distracting myself by re-tying my apron.

"You know, you two deserve each other." A voice said making me look up to see that it was the girl Luke was with.

"Um, excuse me?" I questioned, suddenly feeling very confused.

"You and Luke, it's clear to see that you two are perfect for each other, so have each other." She said sniffing, before walking briskly out of the café.

I looked back to the counter realising that Luke was standing there.

"Luke, what's going on?" I questioned.

"Can we go somewhere more private, we need to talk."

I nodded my head before leading him into the office. I sat down on the blue office chair as Luke stood against the door.

"So, what's going on?" I asked again.

"The girl that I was with, her name is Sadie. I don't have any feelings for her, I mean she's a lovely girl, but I only like her as a friend. So, I decided instead of leading her on that I was going to tell her this, so I told her to meet me here and I guess she thought I was going to ask her out, but I told her that I wanted to just be friends."

"That explains why she was crying, but why did she say that we deserved each other?"

"She said that because I told her that," Luke paused closing his eyes for a moment before opening them and taking a deep breath. "I told her that I loved you."
