I kissed her with all the passion my heart could give, and after a moment, Hayley kissed me back. One of her hands was on the back of my head, the other on my shoulder. I had one hand on her cheek and the other around her waist.

For the first moment, I was in shock that she kissed back. But once that moment passed, I realized that I was in love with this girl. We were there for I don't know how long before we hear this:

"Oh my god!" We broke away from the kiss, but still holding on to each other. We saw Ryland in the entry way of the kitchen in complete shock.

"Well...." Hayley said, both of us turning red. "This is awkward."

"Ryland, what's wr- Oh my god," Shane said, entering the room and stopping next to Ryland. Hayley and I finally released our embrace and awkwardly stood there. "Um, what did he just walk in on?"

Hayley and I looked between each other and searched for an answer. I took up the courage to speak. "Well... we were kissing, to say the least."

"But didn't you two just meet today?" Ryland asked.

"Yeah," Hayley intervened before I got the chance to speak. "Is that okay with you guys, or...?"

"No no no, um, let's forget this whole interruption ever happened. Sorry, just go back to doing what you were doing," Ryland said, rushing himself and Shane back into the living room.

After they left the kitchen, Hayley and I awkwardly laughed off that little awkward interruption. Then, Hayley said, "So... that's how you really feel?"

"I mean... yeah. I get that it's kind of weird since we just met but I n-" I was completely interrupted by Hayley's lips on mine. I kissed her back, her arms wrapping around my neck, and mine around her waist. This time, it felt less weird, but it felt so.... natural.

Hayley's POV

"I mean... yeah. I get that it's kind of weird since we just met but I n-" I kissed Andrew before he could finish talking. I knew I liked him too. He was sweet, caring, and funny. He was also as awkward as I was.

Andrew held me by the waist, and I hung on to his neck. I knew that Andrew liked me- no. I knew Andrew loved me the same way I loved him.

He was right. About knowing we would have something, I mean. Andrew pulled away, then so did I. He smiled sincerely down at me, and I returned it. I could see the love he had for me in his big, brown eyes.

Awkwardly, we walked back into the living room with our sodas and sat back down on the couch with everyone else. "So we have some explaining to do," I said.

》3 hours later, 2 a.m. 》

Andrew and I walked out of Shane's house. "So, about earlier tonight.... What does that make us?" I turned to face Andrew as I reached my car, searching for an answer to his question.

"Well, what do you think it makes us?"

"I don't know, but now that I know we feel the same way, I would hole we could be b-"

"Yes. I will be your girlfriend. And if you want, you can be my boyfriend," I cut him off and smiled.

He smiled back, then kissed me slowly, leaning me up against my car. I kissed him back, and when we pulled away, Andrew asked for my number. I took his phone and added it to his contacts, including my address.

"See you tomorrow?" Andrew asked as I climbed into my car, which had the window rolled down.

"Of course. Coffee at 8?" I suggested.

"Absolutely. Bye, Hayley," Andrew said.

I drove back to my house and went to sleep with a smile on my face and Andrew's hoodie keeping me warm.
