"What the hell was wrong with that guy?" Andrew asked.
"I think he's the one that shot me." I said and Andrew tried to go after him, but I put my arm in his way. "Don't. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but that's just what I'm thinking."
"And if that was him? We just let him get away."
"Then so be it. I'm still alive, aren't I?"
Andrew looked stumped. "Anyways, I should get going. I've got some editing to do."
"Alright. See you later, I guess."
"See ya."
Andrew left the mall with a few bags. I continued walking around and bought some candles, clothes, jewelery, and a few other things. I ended up not going to Kaela's house since she wasn't home.
I got home to find that Brendon's car was gone. It took about half an hour to put away everything I bought today, and a few minutes after I was done with that, I changed into my new jeans and a tan colored hoodie. Then I heard Brendon's car pull up onto the driveway.
He climbed out of his car and smiled when he saw me standing in the driveway. Brendon wrapped me into a hug and kissed my forehead. "Hi Hayley."
"Hey Brendon. Where'd you go?"
"Mm, nowhere."
I left go of him and looked him in the eye with my hands on my hips. "Brendon...?" I gave I'm a look that made him look fake-guilty.
"Fine. But let me say something first.
I noticed Dallon climb out of the car with a camera in hand. Then I got suspicious. "Okay...?"
"Hayley, ever since the day we met, I knew we were going to be friends for the rest of our lives. And once we were old enough to start feeling emotions such as love, I started to like you. By the end of high school for you, I was head over heels for you. And when we got together a few years ago, I was so happy. But then, we weren't quite ready to be together. And now, we've been together for over 6 months and it has been the best half year of my whole life. And I want you to know that."
"Brendon-"
"Hey, I'm not finished. It seems like since we got back together, we picked up right where we left off. It feels like we were never broken up at all. And Hayley, I am still so in love with you. I always have been and always will be. And I had to sneak away from you the other night to ask your dad, but I need to know something...." Brendon pulled out a ring from his pocket. "Hayley, will you marry me?"
Brendon's POV
Hayley stood there with a shocked look on her face for a moment, then jumped into my arms.
I smiled so big and wrapped my arms around Hayley. I set her down and we sort of walked around steadying ourselves, but we held the embrace.
We ended up partway on the grass and partway on the driveway as Dallon continued to film us. This was a huge moment for both me and Hayley, and I want to have it recorded to save forever.
I finally let go of her, but we remained in close proximity of each other. "Is that a yes?" I had tears in my eyes and Hayley was already crying. She nodded and I slipped the engagement ring on her finger. I hugged her again and we stood there for a while.
Everything I had just told her was true. I meant every word of it. And she said yes. Hayley is mine. Forever.
