Above is Hayley**
"Hi," It was Andrew.
"You're such an ass!" I yelled at him. I smacked his arm again and tried to get up, but Andrew held me down.
"Ah-ah-ah, not so fast," Andrew said, giving me a quick kiss. "Now you can go."
Andrew helped me up and we started walking back to the city, me telling him that he scared the shit out of me back there. We finally got back into the city and were only a few blocks from my house.
We were still talking happily as people passed us on either side of the street when we heard two loud 'bang' noises. Gunshots.
People screamed and ran past us, but I heard mostly ringing, everything else becoming muffled. I looked around at the chaos surrounding me.
My hearing cleared and Andrew was holding my hand as we ran away, moving against the sea of people to get to my house.
There were screams and cars zooming away, stores locking up and then us- the only two running against the crowd. At the time, we didn't realize we were the only ones going that way, but we should have.
I heard another gunshot, instantly muffling my hearing again. I fell to the ground, a few people stepping on me as they ran past, and my hand slipping from Andrew's.
Most of the crowd had passed, a few stragglers bumping into Andrew as he spoke words I couldn't hear and concern flooding his face. I tried getting up, but I couldn't move.
Andrew motioned for me to stay down as he crouched next to me. He pulled out his phone and called someone, and I could see worry on his face.
My hearing slowly faded back, bits and pieces of Andrew's conversation became audible to me. "On Main Street..... shooter..... and an ambulance..... been shot..... please hurry!"
Shot? Who was shot? Are they okay? I tried to look around, but then I felt a very intense sharp pain in my side. I looked down at my left side between my ribs and hip to see a hole with blood rushing from it, soaking parts of my shirt and shorts.
It was me. I was shot. I was dying. I looked back up at Andrew, who looked at me with a pained expression.
"Hayley, I'm so sorry. Just hang in there. There's an ambulance on the w-" There was another gunshot. Andrew ducked his head, then sirens grew louder.
An ambulance and several police cars showed up, but I couldn't quite hold my eyes open any longer. My vision was blurry and faded in and out as my eyes flickered closed.
I was back in Colorado and walking home from the gas station. I finished my Twix and threw away the wrapper in a city trash can. I saw a guy on the sidewalk ahead of me, wearing a hoodie that covered his face.
He bumped my shoulder as he passed me and I turned around to face the rude guy. He turned around too and pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot me.

I was with Andrew back in the woods when he tackled me. Instead of yelling, I laughed. But then, he pulled out a gun.
A series of dreams that altered my memories into being shot followed, which consisted of at least 25 that I can remember.
I didn't know where I was because I couldn't open my eyes. I could hear everything around me, but couldn't move or speak. I was locked in the prison of my own mind.
I felt my heart race and heard a monitor beep with my heartbeat. I heard shuffling feet and voices I didn't recognize.
"She's probably having a bad dream," said a woman.
"Or she's awake but too numb to move," said a British man. "If you're awake, love, try to use your vocal chords."
I tried to make noise and was successful. The doctors moved around again and I felt an IV get pulled out of my arm. Within minutes, I was able to open my eyes and they helped me sit up.
My side was still a bit sore. "Miss... Siwicki?"
"Oh no, Hayley Thompson. Siwicki is my boyfriend's last name. Is he here?" I asked, my voice rough.
"Ah, Andrew, is it?" The male doctor asked. I nodded. "I will send him in."
The doctor and nurse left, and a moment later, Andrew rushed in. He hugged me, careful not to hurt me. He kissed my forehead and sat in a chair next to the bed.
Andrew placed the small bouquet of roses on the table next to me and smiled sadly. "Hey. How are you feeling? I've been so worried."
"I'm fine. I mean, I'm a little sore, but that's normal, I guess," I replied. I held his hand and looked into his big brown eyes.
"You've been out for a month, Hayley."
