Lexa's pov
"Octavia... what did you do to her?" I crane my neck to get a better view at Y/n's face, but she keeps her eyes trained out the window. My worry grows and grows with each passing heartbeat as I notice a shiny river slowly drying down the side of her cheek. She has been crying.
I turn to Octavia and mouth that she has been crying which her eyes then grow a bit in concern as I watch her peer at Y/n's distant body. "Hey Y/nn?" No response. I step back to allow Octavia to take control since she is much closer to the small brunette than I. "Y/n... Hey, look at me," Octavia puts her hand cautiously on her shoulder as if she may fall to pieces with too much weight on her.
I shift my gaze from her shoulder to her swollen knee while absentmindedly listening to Octavia grow more and more anxious. I zone back into reality and place my hand on Octavia's shoulder to get her attention. She turns with an exacerbated look and takes a step away from the bed towards me.
"What are ways that you normally cheer her up?" She bites her lip and looks over her shoulder at the frail-looking brunette. "I normally sit quietly and let her sort all of it out," I nod, but am taken aback a slight bit as she continues. "But that's was what I was doing before I left to get food. She normally doesn't get worse." Her eyes connect with mine. I feel anger in her from not knowing how to help, but the concern overpowers it.
"Think Octavia," I place my hands on her shoulders and shake her up a bit to try to get her memory juices going. "Is there anything else that you've done that has helped her in the past." Octavia's eyes sink to what seems like my neck as she bites her lip and thinks.
"Ya, find a way to distract her. That usually works." She turns back around and observes Y/n's form, probably looking for any angle she could use to make the small girl laugh or communicate. I bite my lip as I examine her as well.
A small smile tugs my lips when a possible crazy thought comes to my mind. Without thinking or talking it out I climb onto the bed and sit on Y/n's stomach, looking at Octavia with a smirk on my face. She narrows her eyes but then catches on what I am trying to do following my example and sitting on Y/n's hips.
"This is a pretty comfy seat, don't you think so Octavia?" She narrows her eyes once more, but soon catches up and nods her head. "I mean it could be a bit fluffier," she wiggles around on Y/n's hips making the entire bed and her body wiggle and shake. My smile grows as I see what Octavia is doing. "Ya, I guess your right, but," I poke Y/n's stomach feeling butterflies fly a little as I hear her small giggle, "it's so warm." I make a daring move to shift my gaze from Octavia and turn to look at Y/n who is looking at me while biting her lip clearly trying to hide her amusement.
I sigh and shift my body completely so I am laying flat on top of the small brunette. My legs lay flat over Octavia's and my head and hair on Y/n's face. "I don't know, Octavia. I really like this." I look down at Octavia and see her trying to hold in her laughter. I keep myself poised while I hear small grunts and giggles below me.
"Leeeeeexaaaaa..." I fake surprise and sit up, "Octavia... don't move." I look around as if I can't see that Y/n is the one who made the noise silently celebrating when I hear her giggle a little more. "What is it, Heda?" "Something just talked... I swear I heard an unfamiliar voice." The most precious and heart melting shy smiles slips on Y/n's lips as she quietly snickers to her enjoyment. "Heda... are you scared." I fake shock as I turn and look to Octavia.
"Absolutely not... no. I am am not scared." I fail miserably at talking with a stutter, but Y/n's laughter begins to louden even more. I feel a proud smile cover my face as Octavia nods for me to keep going. "I I am not scared of anything. How dare you talk to me that way. I am I am your Heda." I shift a little on her stomach as it dips a little from her growing laughter.
"Ahhhhh!!' I shift down Y/n's body and closer to Octavia panning my vision to an invisible creature. "Did you feel that?" I slowly grab Octavia's arm.
We all freeze as we hear the door of the tent being opened and closed. I widen my eyes and stare at a shocked Clarke who stands in the small tent completely speechless and dumbfounded at the scene she sees in front of her. I clear my throat to speak and try to explain but a better idea crosses my mind.
"She started it." I point at Octavia, who overly reacts to the accusation. "I did not! Heda started it!! It's her fault!" I pause and high five Octavia the moment Y/n's laughter splits through the air. Clarke stands in the small tent with her eyebrows raised and arms crossed in from of her chest.
"Ooooooooooh, Y'all are in trouble." I jump slightly once more, "Octavia... please tell me you heard that?!" "I think I deserve an explanation here." I ignore Clarke as a cautiously survey Y/n's body, looking for a ghost. "You may be right Heda. I heard it that time too."
At this point, Y/n's smile has grown exponentially. Her cheeks bright with laughter, eyes full of carefree joy. I lean down to slide off but am stopped by Clarke's hand on my chest. I look her in the eyes and see she may be trying to get a small reaction out of Y/n as well.
"And where do you think you are going, young lady?" I try to hold in my laughter at her motherly tone as she starts to nag me. I slouch down on Y/n's body playing along to continue to hear her sweet laugh ring loud.
