Lexa's pov:
"Hon daun en leidon gon traks." I begin to search around the rather desolate landscape, looking for anything that may give a clue to the Rover's direction. Half of the search party is over on the fringes of the forest, working to find any clues other than the dried blood and bodies the previous group found while I and the other half shield our eyes from the wind and try to find anything in the dusted ground.
"Gon wan nou a sis au, Heda" I nod and stand up realizing that they are right about the wind, all evidence would be gone. I shift my gaze to the edge of the forest and notice Octavia pulling Bellamy, and a few warriors to a spot by the side of the forest.
"Bakon gon tridega" I begin to make my way over, hoping that they will have something that points us in the direction of where Y/n was taken. I hear small grunts behind me as a few of the warriors following behind me. The whips of few of my wisps of hairs that are not long enough to fit in my braids against the side of my forehead, I momentarily close my eyes and stop moving until the wind ceases before taking the last few steps to reach Octavia.
"Did you find anything?" The raven-haired girl looks up to me and then back to the ground, pointing at some footsteps in the mud. "Not mountain men boots?" Octavia shakes her head as she continues to follow the muddy tracks.
The rumble of rushing water begins to grow as we make our way back to the river border, crossing over and staying on the trail the best we can as it begins to disappear in the dense underbrush.
"We're going to lose the trail."
"Yes, but we know the general direction. We know she isn't in the mountain." I nod my head to Bellamy and continue to trail behind watching the underbrush for any signs of possible life.
"Do you guys have any clue of who could have taken her? If this is a total coincidence that she got taken or if someone took her?" Octavia and I look at each other before I look back at the ground and push the few flyaways off my forehead. My jaw tenses as I the thought of Y/n locked up while they were still on the arc. Octavia said that the smaller girl would have small breakdowns in her cell and that the raven-haired girl had no idea how bad it was until she heard the younger girl screaming in her sleep and would not leave her for more than five minutes.
"Lex, you okay." I pull myself out of my thoughts and nod at Octavia as we continue to walk through the woods. I let out a laugh as Bellamy gets hit in the head by a branch causing him to fall back and move his worried gaze from us to where he is walking. We make our way around a big tree trunk, my breath escaping as I nearly trip over one of two wooden stumps found in the middle of this clearing.
"Shit," I whisper under my breath while I continue to walk behind Octavia, hiding any limp I get from the pain. My eyes dash between the two stumps before I stop on the edge of the small clearing. I turn around, ignoring the strange stares from my warriors and take a deep breath in the familiar area. Clarke is sitting across from me while I hold onto Y/n's leg with the sore knee. Y/n falls on the ground off of Clarke's lap and laughs, her husky dolphin laugh ringing around in the small clearing. Y/n's small hum against my lips. Her light brunette hair curling around Clarke's finger. I scan the clearing and watch the dirt raise as Clarke and I drop Y/n on the ground and race over to the two stumps, Y/n complaining the entire time about how she can walk on her own. "I miss her hum."
"Heda?" I take in a breath and set my jaw before turning to Octavia once more. "Are you okay? Do you know this place?" I bite the inside of my cheek and make my way out of the clearing, stiffening my back so that I do not look back while I catch up behind Bellamy.
"You okay?" I nod to ease Bellamy's anxiety as we continue our way to see if we continue to look for any signs of life.
"Well, we do know that she is not in the mountain," I bite my cheek once more as he almost walks into a tree.
"Yes, so we can search through the land to see i-"
"Well, maybe not just the land, there are other peoples living on the water." I nod my head and keep my gaze forward.
"How is Clarke doing, O?" I lean down to a bush to grab a ripped piece of cloth that's attached to the trunk of a nearby tree.
"She's doing ok- Hey, what do you got there Heda?" I feel a shift next to me as Octavia bend down and helps me detangle the cloth. I shift on my toes and finally pull out the last of it before taking the feeling of the cloth in between my fingers. "Do you smell that Lex?" I close my eyes, my eyebrows stitching together, I take in what smells like musky salt.
"Fish." She nods next to me and gets up to look at her brother.
"Let's start our search by the water shall we?"
