New Tattoo

Y/n's pov:

I keep my gaze on the mosh pit of greens splayed out on my plate pushing around the leaves before forking some and eating it. I try to ignore the two pairs of eyes staring at me, seeing out of the corner of my eyes that they are slowly eating at well. I continue to fork around my food my eyes on my bandaged muscles watching the skin beneath flex and relax while I push around my food.

Another forkful, I look up to see what the chuckling is about chewing quietly. Octavia's lips are spread in a small smile while she looks at Raven who is trying not to laugh while she fumbles with her fork. I bite my lip and watch the smiled creases at the edges of Octavia's eyes grow, her laughter growing slightly. Her head is arched back slightly showing the muscles of her neck stretch and relax while she fights to breathe between her fits of laughter.

Another forkful, I pull my hand up and rub my necklace with my forefinger and thumb. The cold metal slowing my racing mind, I focus back on Octavia's laughter trying to figure out what Raven did. She's still fumbling with the fork pinching the handle between her hands. She quickly pushes her right hand forward and left back towards herself, the fork turns slightly and falls. I stifle my laughter at seeing poor Raven's pout from failing again. Her eyes shift to me, "glad you're joining us Y/n." I nod quietly and take another forkful of greens in my mouth, my other hand still on my necklace. Both of their gazes back on me while I look at the bandages again letting my thoughts wander. My gaze shifts up my arm to the single arrow.

"Earth to Y/n," I bring my gaze back up to the two zoning back into reality. "Alright screwball, you got us til Lexa and Clarke are out of their meeting. What do you want to do?" I rest my elbows on the table and watch Octavia's eyes narrow at me. "Y'all don't have to wa-" "Alright it's decided we'll go to the river and take a dip." I close my mouth knowing there is no point in arguing. "I need to see Gaia first." Both of their eyebrows furrow but no one objects I take another forkful.

"Will you please eat that last tiny ass leaf so I can take your plate Y/nn." I stick my tongue out at Raven and do as she wishes slowly forking the last leaf and bring it to my lips. I boldly wink at her and continue my slow pace of bringing it into my mouth. She rolls her eyes and takes the plate before getting up towards the trash, Octavia's eyes shift to me. "Why do you wanna see Gaia?" I shrug looking down at my inner arm, "have another tattoo idea I want to be done." She narrows her eyes but says nothing more at Raven comes back to join us. "Ready?" I nod my head and both Octavia and I stand to leave the clearing with Raven.

"Can we come in with you," I furrow my eyebrows at the question but nod my head anyways while we make our way to Gaia's tent. 

"Hey G," I smile at her which she quickly returns. "Hey Y/n, how can I help you?" I take a seat on the edge of her bed which she joins quickly, her eyebrows raise as she sees I have company. I roll my eyes, "Ya, they're babysitting me while Lexa and Clarke are in a meeting." Gaia nods her head and narrows her eyes at Octavia. "Why aren't you there?" Octavia shuffles and takes a seat on one of the stools, "because it is an update meeting of the mountain men in Polis, nothing about any action we may or may not take." Raven sits on the stool next to her, letting her leg rest on Octavia's lap. "Those meetings just make me irritated and antsy." I look at my arm and bite my lip waiting for Gaia to finish her conversation with Octavia so we can start.

"Okay Y/nn, what would you like?" I notice her eyes watching my bandaged knuckles, but the question in her eyes shifts to the side when she looks at me. "New tattoo?" I nod and let a small hum rumble in my throat. She nods and I stick out my left arm, showing the single arrow, "I would like two more arrows, one on each side of the original and both slightly longer than the original." She licks her lips and brushes the pad of her thumb along the arrow. "Okay, let me grab my stuff." She gets up from her bed leaving my body to shift at the loss of weight on the padded surface. I turn my gaze to the two staring at me, both with annoying smirks on their lips.

"Shut up." I roll my eyes and see Raven raise her hands in defense. Octavia's stare piercing through me, "guess that means you like being a puppy." "I am not a pup-" I lower my voice when Gaia comes back into the room, keeping my glare trained on Octavia's gaze. Raven puts her hands behind her head and leans back on the table as she realizes how right Octavia is.

There's shifting beside me as Gaia gets her things all set up, my gaze still fixed on Octavia, her cocky smirk mocking me. "Okay Y/n, put your arm out for me." I do as told, my gaze unphased. I feel the cool tip and a small pinch while she starts. "What happened to your knuckles?" She whispers it in a halftone, I take a breath liking that she makes sure I know I don't have to share. "The idiot punched a tree." My gaze shifts to Raven, her brown eyes daring me to object. I sit silently. "Multiple times." I feel my eyebrow twitch in irritation and release a breath to relax. "Sounds like fun." My heart sinks when I hear the disappointment in Gaia's voice, my jaw clenches from the anger I feel from my past stupidity.

"Hey Y/n," I snap out of my thoughts and refocus my attention back on Raven. "Where did you get all those tattoos anyway?" "She had a lot of them when we hung out in lock up on the arc." Raven's gaze shifts from me to Octavia and back, "Oh ya," she pulls her legs off Octavia and she leans forward on her thighs. "Why did you get locked up again?"
