Humming Bird Lexa/You/Clarke story

Necessary Lunch

Clarke's pov:

I situate myself next to Lexa and across from Y/n at the old beat up table, placing my plate and Y/n's on the table. I push the plate in front of Y/n, watching as the side of her mouth twitches while she stares at the plate of food. Her hands still in her lap do not move to take the fork waiting on the table.

I'm pulled from my thoughts and away from Y/n's figure hearing the rustling of the table as Raven and Octavia take a seat on either side of the smaller brunette. Raven licks her lips in anticipation, pulling her eyes from the younger girl beside her to us in concern. Octavia sits stiffly beside Y/n, her eyes shifting from the smaller girls frame to the fork on the table. Octavia leans over. I watch her lips move a few inches from Y/n's ear before she pulls away and picks up her fork.

I bite my lip as the side of Y/n's mouth twitches once more, her shoulder shifting as she brings her right hand up and cautiously takes the fork in between her fingers. There's a small shift in her eyelids as her gaze moves to watch what appears to be Octavia's hand. The older girl nods her head slightly and brings her fork to her food to scoop a bit up. Her eyes flash up to us as Y/n slowly scoops a bit of food at the end of her fork. I release a breath before fixing my gaze on own plate and slowly begin to eat, seeing Raven and Lexa copy quietly in sync with my actions.

A few bites in, hear small sniffles across the table and shift my gaze, my heart immediately sinks. Y/n's lower lip is quivering, her eyes swollen from the tears she is failing to block, and her face is down while she pushes around the food on her plate.

I look between Lexa, Raven, and Octavia helplessly. All of them sharing their own version of my concern. A small bit of tension has grown in the air as no one breathes, too worried to release a breath and shatter the smaller girl.

Another sniffle.

I move my gaze back onto Y/n and watch as she quickly brings her hand to her hidden face and pulls it away with it shimmering.

"Y/n..." she begins to shake her head. I bite my lip not sure of how I can help her. Lexa and I look at each other, both lost of words to help remedy our girlfriend.

Octavia and Raven get up and throw out their food. They file back over and stand on both sides of the smaller brunette, Raven leaning down to whisper in Y/n's ear. Octavia passes a small nod to us, getting the hint we stand and throw away what's left on our plates and sit down again.

Without another noise, Y/n nods her head slightly and both Raven and Octavia help her up, pulling Y/n flush in between them. Lexa and I falling closely behind creating a wall around the smaller brunette as we lead her out of the eating clearing.

I feel Lexa's hand slip into mine, our fingers interlacing before she lightly squeezes my hand.

We follow the other three into Raven and Octavia's tent, slipping in behind them and taking a seat on the empty bed across from them. Octavia flicks her eyes to me and then towards the door. I nod before squeezing Lexa's hand and leaving the tent to get a plate of food for the smaller girl.

I bite my lip and rake a hand through my hair as I enter the now long line for food, the smaller girl's shattered expressions stuck in my line of vision. I grab a plate and wait patiently for the others in front of me to finish.

"Clarke," I take a breath and pull my gaze from the line in front of me to the owner of the familiar voice. I force a small smile on my face before my gaze shifts to the plate in my hand.

"After you get your food, I need to talk to you." I nod releasing a breath and thankful he doesn't ask where his sister or either of my girlfriends are.

"We got something on the mountain men." I furrow my eyebrows together and allow myself a few seconds to recollect the situation that is going on with the mountain men before looking up at Bellamy before nodding once more.

"I'll be over to you shortly." He nods and offers a reassuring smile that reminds me of Y/n's fake smile and am immediately brought back to my task at hand. He makes his way back to a table and I turn and scoop a small bit of food onto the plate. Grabbing a small glass of water and rushing out of the clearing and over to Raven and Octavia's tent.

I make my way in and feel a small bit of anxiety wash away as I notice Y/n's hum softly fill the air of the tent. The other 3 girls have shifted slightly so all of them are on one bed. Lexa is sitting behind Y/n, who is sitting Indian style in between a sitting Octavia who is cleaning her sword and Raven who is lying down with her head hanging off the bed.

I move the table from the end of the empty bed in between the two and closer to Y/n, placing the plate on the edge closer to the small humming girl. Her humming falters slightly but returns after a moment as I place the cup and fork on the table. She slowly moves her eyes to look at me. I bite my lip and nod my head quickly.

"You need to eat, baby girl." The edge of her mouth twitches but she nods and continues to hum, her gaze moving back to the food on the plate. I stand still with my arms by my side as I focus on my breathing and watch her take the fork and slowly take some food to bring to her lips.

She looks back at me while she calmly chews her food giving me a moment to offer her a nod and smile of encouragement.

"I will be back shortly. Bellamy says he has an update on the mountain men." Raven's head pops up.

"Oh shit, I forgot to tell you." She clambers off causing the other three to wobble from the sudden shift of the bed. Lexa shifts slightly and opens her legs to wrap opening around Y/n and leans herself on the smaller girl's back. Octavia takes a break from cleaning her sword and rests her head on Y/n's shoulder while the smaller girl takes another scoop of food.

"Let's go talk to Bellamy, Clarke." I nod and turn my gaze to Y/n. Watching the smaller girl chew for a moment before following Raven out of the tent.

"You are doing great Y/nn. We'll be right back."
